A frame from Terminator 2 of Sarah Conner staring out into the distance
It would never leave him, and it would never hurt him, never shout at him, or get drunk and hit him, or say it was too busy to spend time with him. It would always be there. And it would die to protect him. In an insane world, it was the sanest choice.

I have probably been guilty of this myself! Its fair to promote your work, but copying tilt brush or a cooking app or a virtual pet or whatever it is from slightly older to slightly newer hardware isn't all that innovative unless you genuinely rethink for that new context.

Something that has always really bugged me, and I don't quite know how to put my finger on, is that with each wave of tech/tools a bunch of people basically reinvent the 10 most obvious ideas, that have been reinvented 25x times but pretend to be the first.

Four highly stylized, sculptural humanoid figures standing side by side against a plain gray background. Each figure has a distinct, avant-garde design with intricate surface textures and bold color choices, giving them a futuristic appearance.

Learning to Float | Are.na Editorial
When I wasn’t fighting it, the water rose to support me.

I am joking really, thanks so much for providing some extra context. It does seem to go on longer than many other sports, but equally it is interesting to get to know it better.

I just checked on the Olympics for the first time in a few days, and they are still curling?! Is this the longest/slowest event in the Olympics?

I love the olympics, and I don't mean any shade but there's a little too much coverage of curling. I am just not into it so much I want 4 hours of it every day.

I think Substack was hoping to become the new Twitter/X with Notes but right now, everytime I open it I get strong LinkedIn vibes instead. I hope this changes.

These are all really interesting issues to be thinking about. Its interesting in the context of world models, but also a wider point about shared creative work.

So old world media is now entirely a mouthpiece for those in power, utterly compromised, and corroded to the core. And the only new credible alternative is paywalled Substacks? No shade to the journalists at all, we all need to make money.

Super simple foundation running on IOS for a larger project we have tons of ideas for over at OHI Studio, which at its core:
→ Recognises anything around you
→ Translates into your preferred language
→ You learn new words wherever you go
→ Get help with day to day stuff while abroad
