“The problem wasn’t the vetting process. It was ignoring what the vetting process said”

This is utterly damning

Russia has been sharing satellite imagery of U.S. warships and aircraft with Iran, helping Tehran target American forces.

Ukraine, in contrast, has deployed specialists and low-cost drone interceptors to help protect the U.S. and its allies.

Russia = our enemy 🇷🇺
Ukraine = our ally 🇺🇦

‘They pushed so many lies about recycling’: the fight to stop big oil pumping billions more into plastics Plastic production has doubled over the last 20 years – and will likely double again. For author Beth Gardiner, metal water bottles and canvas tote bags are not the solution. So what is?

Trying to use less plastic?

Big Oil and the plastics industry are spending billions to make sure everyone else uses more.

“I think what stood out most is the deliberateness and intentionality over the years of pushing plastic into our lives,” said @bethgardiner.bsky.social. “It was such a shock."

❌ Leaving the EU has proved incredibly damaging for our NHS.

The University of Surrey has found that Brexit has caused 1,485 additional deaths per year due to EU nurses leaving the UK.

Reaching net zero by 2050 ‘cheaper for UK than one fossil fuel crisis’ Climate change committee finds move to renewable energy would also bring health, economic and security benefits

Our dependency on fossil fuels makes us vulnerable. Wars across the world are pushing up prices for households in the UK.

Why keep waiting for the next crisis? We need to transition to clean power as fast as we can to protect people and our economy.

FACTS:

Net Zero barely nudges your bill.

Fossil‑fuel wars send it through the roof.

So when Farage and his ilk slags off renewables while fanning conflict, remember who actually hikes your costs.

Netanyahu has tried for years to get a US president to go along with his desire for a war with Iran. He finally found one. Then he used chemical weapons on Lebanon. This man is committing war crimes and igniting hatred that will start more killings and destruction everywhere.

Reform UK really are so lucky.

For a party of eight MPs they have the UK’s biggest news broadcaster on retainer.

Here we see their political editor doing the job of a local newspaper reporter.

For Farage.

EIGHT MPs.

Jury's out: Lammy's proposals jeopardise justice Why is a government led by a human rights lawyer proposing to cut access to jury trial?

The government's proposals to slash the number of jury trials in half will increase the risk of miscarriages of justice without saving much money. So why is the prime minister pressing ahead anyway?

This is an absolutely huge jump in oil prices.

It's also why Europe needs to get off fossil fuels asap (beyond climate change impact). We can't be beholden to this.

Crude oil prices, showing a very sharp increase in the last day, from around 65 to 101 dollars per barrel..

Oil prices wouldn't be all over the news today if more of our economy was powered by local, secure renewable energy.

This isn't an "energy crisis". It's a fossil fuel crisis.

44% of UK electricity came from renewables in 2025. More of that plus an electrified economy => no more oil shocks.

DAILY MAIL COMMENT: Five words that damn Blair... and Chilcot The five words 'Blair will be with us' written in a memo to George W Bush in March 2002, confirm what the Mail has long suspected: Tony Blair struck a secret to deal to go to war in Iraq.

Following the Iraq war we had the Chilcot Inquiry, Starmer has followed his recommendations. Strangely the right wing press used it to attack Blair www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/artic...

Labour just announced energy price cap dropped.
Oil just spiked, completely undoing that.
Given 50% of UK energy is from renewables, now is the time to renationalise and drop the dumbass marginal price system that makes green energy needlessly as expensive as gas.
