The moral of the story is that there are jobs for artists, real actual careers, a lot of them. If that is what you are good at, pursue it.
All of us had tried pursuing different fields (tech, publishing, manufacturing) because “everybody knows” that being an artist isn’t a real job. And all of us realized that we were miserable and needed to do what we were good at instead… and we all succeeded!
