Most of painting is just standing there—listening, feeling, waiting. I returned to a familiar style, but nothing is the same. The old work came from grief. Now something gentler is stirring. Doubt still visits, but so does devotion. I didn’t go to art school—but I’ve lived. Maybe that’s the art.
