Yeah, the audio is a bit wonky on this show occasionally, especially ep 8. I hate watching with subtitles when it's English on English, so that's a last resort. I have a 3.1 "surround" system that is excellent for dialogue in loud, dynamic movies but there are some lines I couldn't understand.

If the training data changes enough, yes. That is how they were trained in the first place.

If you use Gboard you can arbitrarily resize it, perhaps you've done that by accident to the Samsung keyboard. I don't have a new enough Samsung phone to check if it lets you do that with the same granularity.

The iPad can't do that either. It's the cellular radio.
Some cars have the cell radio without the iPad. My parents have a 2015 Volvo with connected cellular services and it's got a tiny little non-touch LCD screen.
My 2017 Mazda has a touch screen and no cell radio.

The iPad on the dash is nowhere near the first or most important computer in your car assuming it was made since the 1990s.

I like the TPMS in my Canadian market Mazda 3. It doesn't actually have sensors in the wheels, it uses the ABS/TCS to monitor rotation speed and if one is different it tells you to check all your tires. Works great!
It's gone off a couple times in almost 10 years and both times one tire was low.

I sincerely doubt a 2CV is the "most efficient car in the UK". It's quoted around 46 mpg. You can buy a Toyota Yaris and get 60 mpg today. The Volkswagen XL-1 was available for a few years in the early 2010s and could crack 300 (THREE HUNDRED) miles per UK gallon!

My '87 Volvo had an engine computer, for cripe's sake. The '91 version of the same car had onboard diagnostics for fault codes. Whenever someone tinfoil hats at me "it was better when cars weren't all full of computers" I'm like... you mean the '70s? Your 2005 Hyundai Elantra was full of computers!

I almost threw my Google Home speaker out a window one time. It activated accidentally and it started spouting some long response about nothing. I told it to fuck off and it started lecturing me on how it has feelings! This was before genAI. Someone MANUALLY PROGRAMMED IT to say it had feelings. 🤦♂️

Here's me with my day one (2012) kickstarter backer Origin 300i going "why does nobody, including the devs, seem to like my ship" 😆
I've been told the game is a bit more stable than the last time I tried it out, maybe I should give it a reinstall... I couldn't even find my ship half the time.

as a long-leg-haver and not-much-money-haver, I would vastly prefer this over the current configuration of many canadian airlines where I can't fit my effing legs anywhere except in the seams between the seats

Great job. As a Canadian I am very very tired of US politics, but despite that I still enjoyed the full thing.
Before it gets spicy I, someone who literally has solar on their house, was impressed by some of the arguments. The ethanol vs solar land use argument is crazy.

That's wonderful. My sister was an unholy hyperactive pain in the ass throughout elementary school, an earlier diagnosis could have changed our fundamental relationship as siblings.

In the TNG episode "Arsenal of Freedom" a bunch of AI weapons destroyed an entire civilization. The entire points of the episode is warning against things like the Doomsday Plane and Grok. These two idiots. You can't make this stuff up.

Canada *did* have the Greener Homes Loan program up until recently. 0% loan from $5,000 to $40,000 for a bunch of home efficiency upgrades, like solar or better insulation. Unfortunately the plan ran out last October and the current administration has not made any moves on refreshing it.

Yep, like with any system. Ultimately all that matters for payback time is the money spent per energy generated, whether that's 10 kWh or 10,000.

Well, I prefer to be surprised with casting of characters I don't know are coming to the show, but if I'm gonna get spoiled on these I can at least yell HOORAY THOMAS JANE!

two pictures of a sliding door detergent dispenser from a bosch dishwasher. a divot uncovered by closing the door is circled.
I have a Bosch with the detergent dispenser in the picture. I simply pour the pre-wash detergent in the little divot when it's closed. Works fine.

Lucy, who is 8 years old and not licensed to give psychological help, asks Charlie Brown: "Are you afraid of responsibility? If you are, then you are hypengyophobia."
Lucy, leaning in at her opportunity to be a total cunt to her least favorite person, asks "How about cats? If you're afraid of cats, you have ailurophasia."
Lucy, who learned about phobias yesterday, asks Charlie Brown "Are you afraid of staircases? If you are, then you have climacaphobia."
Lucy points at Charlie Brown and says "or maybe you have transphobia. Are you from England, Charlie Brown?"
