People on social media who hold back, mainly reading others' posts and not participating otherwise are not so much lurkers as readers. So what if they don't have a profile photo? Maybe they don't need a follow back. If they end up being a troll or asshat, block them. No need to shame.
Reading should be a joy and not a chore. If you're not in the mood or can't find just the right book, it's okay to take a break. I've never been a constant reader. We all have our own unique relationship with books. And, books are always there when you're ready for them.
