Oops, confused it with a different game on Party of One.
Excited for this!
@stickydoodler
I make games that spark imagination and empathy. I also promote tabletop game designers based in the DMV ♦️🎲 (DC-MD-VA). 爸爸 to Big Sticky and Li'l Doodler. He/他/any. https://stickydoodler.itch.io/

It's true, it's hard enough to get a single player rolling nevermind two, though the idea is very appealing. And then you have solo epistolary games like Ghostbox
Did not know that was a deck-builder! I swear I heard an AP of it
Oh cool thank you! Yeah I think he was listening to Critical Role at some point, so more diverse AP might be good!
Lemme start a new thread on this and not hijack someone else's when I have a minute because I have a system I hope to upload soon
Oh right I actually saw this earlier, I must have forgotten to reach out!
Repost with clarification that my friend is a middle aged dad not a kid (but he'll readily admit his tastes are childish!)
selves to deckbuilding I don't think
A few years ago when @long-tail-games.bsky.social was assembling Tiny Library 2 we brainstormed the idea of a MOSAIC-Strict CCG.
As for an actual deckbuilder I'd be curious what story systems are card driven (vs Gloomhaven with combat cards)
I'm working on a few actually but they don't lend them
Aww thank you! I've found localization partners in France and Finland but not the UK, I would love someone to print it locally given cost of shipping
When you print make sure the paper is thin enough to trace through. I'd love to hear about your experience!
Right, if people show up in person to deliver and pick up inventory, that can work. We did that with a retailer at a big convention (PAXU), and those of us who went muled, and they mailed remainders they didn't want to keep in inventory back. But postage can cost more than the inventory at our scale
What are the best deckbuilder TTRPGs to check out?
This sounds dope and honestly you've just redefined "power fantasy" for me. Go get it 💪
Great idea, and I would love to hear how you handle logistics. Our local collective has discussed this a lot, but inventory became a barrier. But, one reason is we were looking at rotating who does the sales. Maybe that's too complicated
Thanks -- we're told it's quite treatable, but it's going to be very paintful
It's gonna be great either way!!!
Magic the Gathering land card customized to read "The City of Baltimore" and showing the Baltimore skyline and copy that welcomes GAMA EXPO to town.
Designed in the DMV is excited to welcome @gamaofficial.bsky.social to Baltimore in 2027!

This gold, thanks.
"Expounded universe" is perfect for a discursive galaxy 😂
Yeah sadly we are all suffering from middle age diseases now 😑
I feel like Taskmaster came up in the context of game design, somehow, not too long ago
Oooh that's the one I was trying to remember!!! Thank you!!! ❣️
Oh nice and thanks!
Thanks! Sadly, my spouse went through cancer in 21-2 (and is OK for now) and another friend in 24-5 (she didn't make it). One thing I'm trying to do is support his spouse, having been through it myself; she was the one who thought having some entertainment would help him get through the long days 😔
One of my friend's many plant projects
By "he loves bonsai" what I mean is he asked the oncologist if he could bring his trees with him for overnight stays.
(The answer was "no")
In fact, I learned he had cancer because he was trying to outplace tree saplings to friends.
His tastes include
🐲 D&D
🐰 Here to Slay
🫀 Organ Attack
🚫 He loves bonsai but "doesn't get" the Bonsai Diary (even though he's one of the inspirations)
(It says a lot about me, not him, that my description of his tastes are limited to tabletop games)
👂 I'm looking for suggestions 👂
My Best Bonsai Buddy was just diagnosed with lymphoma. His treatment will involve multi-day stays at the hospital, both painful and boring.
I'll take your suggestions for audiobooks and very low-stress games / activities that could occupy his time...
better than "pretty large Chris"
This is a great read with a beautiful closing. I think aspiring designers like me are blessed to have giants like Grant who aim to "show them that in fact they are the man behind the curtain" 🎲✂️
It's short for pocket monster, a self-aware fold in the fabric of the universe, aka "pocket," that swallows entire worlds and turns them into lint
I feel this as a former drummer because it really is much less fun to drum by yourself as compared with guitar or piano or just about any other instrument. Creating space for each other is a great way to think about game design as an ethos
Behold, data nerds, I have tabulated Evil Hat's crowdfunding data (launch date, total funding, backer counts, some adjustment for inflation, etc) from 2012 through to a couple hours ago. Check the tabs along the bottom* to get at some graphs/pivot tables. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
