Feeling seen.
It's been a hard month here in Minnesota, a heavy load on behalf of the most vulnerable in our congregations. And not without a whirlwind of emotions, not all of which have been healthy. Some even toxic.
As a clergy colleague confessed, "I really need a good shriving".
Me too.

As a green card holder I see folks like this who, just like the folks here in Minnesota, are defending the Constitution of my adoptive country.

As one immigrant member of Messiah, St. Paul reminded me-- for I am also an immigrant--our adoptive country has been known for "the rule of law" and "due process".

While there may be de-escalation in word, things haven't changed on the ground here in the Twin Cities. Most immigrant members of Messiah, St. Paul, all with legal status, have stayed away from Church for a third week in a row. They simply don't feel safe enough to leave their homes.
This is what one afternoon drop looks like for one (1) Minneapolis mutual aid distributor (read: random mom who wants to help families at her kidsβ schools)
