Even if there is no photomode available there are tools like Universal Unreal Unlocker, Cinematic Unity Explorer, or REFramework
…and Reshade and SRWE will help you with pretty much everything else like colorwork and DoF or hotsampling

There are a lot of games and it can be worthwhile to explore some of the not so obvious choices in order to find something interesting to take pictures of.

…and there are things that will break if you treat them as in the real world e.g., transparent objects or particles combined with a depth of field.

Understand that you are in a virtual space and sometimes you have to break it in order to get something good out of it e.g., out of bounce or character rigging

Quality over quantity
Try to take shots of something you like
Use lighting if possible to either fix underlit scenes or set the mood

Dishonored is definitely worth going back to. The game is great and the camera works really well. So, if you are looking for a new game to shoot, you might want to give it a try. Biggest downside for me was, that I couldn’t use any depth-based shaders, and that I wasn’t be able to hotsample.

Unfortunately, my pile of shame is quite big and taking shots is taking more and more time. Atm, I am playing a game that lets me move and rig characters and also set up lights, there goes my evening

I didn't do a whole playthrough, just a couple of levels. I wanted to test the camera and also capture a few characters and buildings. So, expect a few more shots but it’s going to be closer to 10 than 30, I’m afraid.
