It was lovely to find these Scarlet Tiger Moths in the garden amongst the Red Valerian.

Lovely sunny walk around #LadywalkNR this morning, highlights were Glossy Ibis, Cuckoo, Lesser Whitethroat, Green Sandpiper, Bullfinch and Treecreeper.

Also Yellow Legged Gull and two Little Ringed Plovers.
Spent a few hours at #LadywalkNR this morning, highlights were Cuckoo, Grasshopper Warbler, Red Kite, Water Rail, Great White Egret and Goosander. Nine species of warbler found.

Had a walk around Middleton Lakes today, highlights were Yellow Wagtail, Redstart, Water
Rail, Avocet, Blackwit, LRP and Grasshopper Warblers.
Fantastic to see an Osprey fly over at Southfields Farm, also Lesser Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Yellowhammer, Bulfinch, Cetti's Warbler, Grey Wagtail and Kingfisher.

Had a walk along the River Cole, Stechford to Shard End, plenty of birds around including Skylark, Bulfinch, Blackcap, Fieldfare, Redwing and Buzzards, also good to see Starling numbers increasing.
It was nice to hear so many singing Song Thrushes along the River Cole, Shard End this morning, YL Gull, Kestrel, Buzzard, Blackcap, Bulfinch, Greenfinch, Nuthatch and Coal Tit were also seen.
It really is worth a visit at any time of year, quite good for wildlife too.
