An Oakham Ales branded pint glass sat on a table in Charters pub in Peterborough, the sunlight shining through one of the few windows in the place and lighting the golden beer within to glint like the nectar of the gods. This is Citra, the beer that could be argued to have started the modern trend for highly hopping beers, and almost certainly for naming them after the hops. And being in Charters with their ties to Oakham Ales, this beer is their monthly special and only £3.50 a pint. The bar itself is buzzing with football fans ahead of the Peterborough United vs Shrewsbury game that kicks off just up the road in a couple of hours, and both home and away fans are mixing, drinking and chatting in the bar and the large beer garden outside, talk g advantage of the first dry, sunny and not freezing cold day of the year.

Labor freezes indexation on draught beer excise The government will pause the biannual indexation of the draught beer excise for two years, a modest change that has been welcomed by the hotel industry.

The original headline on this was a hit job on Albanese, our ABC must have received enough complaints to change it.

The article retains the silly point about a 1¢ per pint price reduction, when the the changes are part of a broader tax plan for this industry.
