watching the fucking brain decay amongst previously superlative programmers, i'm gonna be saying "AI krokodil" a lot
Ah! Lost that one haha
*both Iraq and Afghanistan
The US is very good at short term tactical victories. Early Iraq was that. Afghanistan was that. But from a strategic long term perspective they've lost pretty much three quarter of the time since Vietnam (unless you count their proxy Israel as US victories I guess?)
What war has the US won in the past 50 years? And I mean concrete long term strategic victories, not temporary tactical ones. Both Iraq were tactical victories at the start but strategic loss
because the rest are cowards
Funny how robotaxi operators with Level 4 autonomy disclose why their cars crashed, what they crashed into, whether it was within their ODD, etc.
Tesla, which loudly proclaims to have fully self-driving cars, redacts nearly everything, even which FSD version was in use. π€‘

Nah there are definitely many people that say he's a nazi. There are also many that says what you mention.
From the same people that want to "stand up to superpowers"
Allegedly easier π
Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM
This is basically the same problem as "AI summaries". AI cannot summarise because it doesn't understand meaning and so will fail to capture important information. But for simple texts or ones that repeat themselves a lot, it will "work"
It's funny because once you read the article, you see that the paper pretty much finds something obvious: llm are okay to translate relatively simple texts but once there is more complex meaning involved, they fail. Wow, riveting findings
Apparently "push back against dominant superpowers" is synonymous with "immediately fall in line to support American illegal wars of aggression"
And yet when people try to actually measure productivity metrics in a non self-reported way (even AI boosters in some cases), they find results that are a little less good shall we say...
What evidence though? Self reports? Unreliable. Benchmarks from AI companies? Equally unreliable (since its more or less marketing). Papers from academics that put llm in their projects for no other reason than chasing grant money? Lot of junk there
And I suspect a lot of this "centrism" revolve around some weird pedantry against the terminology simplification of calling *chatbots* in particular just "LLMs". Of course people are focused on chatbots because that's the main and most damaging application of LLMs
They also need to understand that this is not an academic debate (and if it was one they should probably consider that a lot of ML research is junk)
This thread is an excellent example of why "AI criticism centrism", aka refusing to accept that you can indeed argue that LLM are useless is dumb and a dead end (ironic twist). There are countless examples of political fights lost because one tried to appeal to dry "facts" and yet they persist...
If they actually knew about it, of course (they usually don't)
No, not really
The "AI criticism centrism" (like OP) who seems to be on some sort of coordinated effort at the moment are considerably more problematic than "haters"
So you don't know. As evidenced by the ever increasing amount of junk.
Nice self-own
An issue would be the size of the boats, tankers are *huge* so unless you want to have create a new fleet of ships Γ la Panamax you'd have to build huge infrastructure to accommodate them
Maybe you could do it but the cost would probably be eye watering even for a petro-state lol
Mountains and hills at least twice as high (800 ish metres) as around the Panama canal. Probably why nothing has ever been tried there.
US neocons were doing that too in the 90s, the Blob has pretty much wanted this for the last 40 odd years...
Imagine thinking Iran is destabilizing the region more than the US
some Tyler Austin Harper credulous bullshit
what a fucking moron. what an absolute and complete gormless idiot.
