feral discourse going around allegedly in this day and age. who gives a shit. puritans are taking away your rights and molesting children and doing who knows what to animals, porn is not the enemy and never has been, and it took me too long to realize that but its never too late to learn better.

It's part of what's frustrating about the "just switch venues!" that folks yodel when a con venue makes a mistake or changes their policies. Yes it is important to consider other venues but it's not just driving across town - you likely won't find another one the same size/price in the same city.

Not too surprising - furry conventions are pretty huge by "overnight event" standards, and everyone is looking at similar criteria for price, transportation access, hotel availability, vendor access and so forth. The constraints are similar and there just aren't that many appealing venues out there.
