there's a classic f1 videogame in the works btw
I just realized I do have something to share actually. please enjoy these cursed cards for an italian card game called Mercante in Fiera, made by the motorsport magazine Rombo back in the days:
thank you! i should definitely be here more often, lurking in the shadows..
oh you know i just had to reblog this
Have a photo of Jackie Stewart giving François Cevert a piggy back ride for these trying times
oh and of course I acquired some vintage motorsport magazines at Imola during the Minardi Days π
no but there were definitely a few Lotus to be seen!
I definitely recommend visiting Imola during the Minardi Days like I did, there's a lot of racing history to be enjoyed!
went to say hello to ayrton and gilles as well β€οΈ
Imola was fun!
Greetings from Imola!
Goodbye, Didier. In the past years I've seen more and more people getting interested in your story, and that's already a small victory: I wish you were still among us, but at least you're not forgotten.

i hadn't! I knew he could barely walk but that his leg was in such a bad condition... I wish I could hug him.
My brand-new #MotorSport column profiles β70s/β80s #F1 ace Didier Pironi - who was very quick, very intelligent & very ambitious, but also impetuous, reckless &, in the end, fatally unlucky. Click below to find out more, including what might have beenβ¦

well that was an intense read for sure! I don't think I'm ever going to forget the detail about his leg.
ooh thanks i will definitely check it out!
1982 #OnThisDay, 3 July, Didier Pironi secured victory for Ferrari at the Dutch Grand Prix, finishing ahead of Piquet and Keke Rosberg. The win came shortly after Pironi survived a testing accident at Paul Ricard, where his car somersaulted before landing upright on the track.

That sounds like a great itinerary! I had planned to stop at the museum at Magny Cours as well but it was closed.
Oh great to know! Though to be fair it would be quite brave to wear one in Italy, the average classic f1 fan here is still very much on Gilles' side for the whole Imola thing...
At the beginning of May! I had a bit of a classic f1 themed vacation (drove a CrosslΓ© at Clermont Ferrand, visited Didier, spent a day at Monaco).
oh I love the shirt, where did you get it?
Ciao Elio, sarai sempre vivo nei nostri cuori β€οΈ #eliodeangelis

still can't believe this is me tbh
(And crying obviously)
Stopped by to say hello and leave an orchid ππ
