I do think not enough time is spent thinking about the asymmetry of modern politics. The right widely looks, is socialized, & identifies the same.

On the left you inherently have to organize Black people under a banner with super anti-Black folks. LGBTQ folks under a banner with homophobes, etc.

I think this is explained by the idea of asymmetry. If you have to be a billionaire to afford an outlet, and one party is clearly pro-billionaire, then there you go

It's the asymmetry of U.S. politics. The right is largely homogenous with a few super effective scapegoats to target.

The left is demographically and ideologically diverse, makes it so much harder for this type of macro-level organizing.
