I registered my grievances today by voting in the North Carolina primary election. I loved that a local student designed our “I voted” sticker.

My 8 year old daughter imposed ashes on my forehead this evening at church. I asked her if she knew what to say when she put those ashes on someone’s forehead. She responded that she did and said, “God loves you” as the ash swept across my head.

What a perfect thing to say.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson died today. He was more than a civil rights advocate turned presidential candidate—he was a trailblazer whose desire was to bring all of us along for the ride. He will be sorely missed.

Friends, as Ash Wednesday approaches it is my solemn and steadfast duty to remind my clergy colleagues to never mix the ashes with water unless you want to burn your parishioners with lye.

Today I filmed a video course at John Street United Methodist Church in Manhattan for the General Commission on Archives and History of the United Methodist Church. The course will be on the 250th anniversary of the United States of America and early Methodism.

This means democracy will finally fall tomorrow, damn. Vocalizing things like this is dangerous in these times. 😂

A friend sent me nighttime snow pictures of the church our family attends. It’s stunning normally but especially in the snow. ❄️

We’re camped out with my parents this weekend for the snowstorm, a Lee family tradition we hold fast to every chance we get. My dad piloted his drone earlier today over the area. He snapped some cool photos.

I'm deeply concerned with Don Lemon's arrest last night in conjunction with his recent coverage of a protest in a Minnesota church. This arrest isn't the right way of doing things and we all deserve better because of the precedence it sets.
