me for two minutes straight being told a story about this
me for two minutes straight being told a story about this
man everything is just demoralizing as hell lately
if you really saw any of this coming then you would have actually done dozens if not hundreds of things differently that could have led to a better result but instead you ran an impressively bad campaign so thatβs on you. even with critical people like me voting for you, you couldnβt win. fuck off.
honestly we could all sit here and make fun of what an entitled clown harris is and always has been, believing that saying βtrump badβ was enough to make everyone alive vote for her and her shitty policies
but to do this at jesse jacksonβs funeral? truly fucking tasteless
shout outs to juan for helping out with today's re:frame send!

thinking once again about how survivor is always on the ground thinking about blocking and composition when getting their footage. part of my love for this show is its blocking, no joke. not only is it something they consider & capture in the moment, but they make you feel it
it's been very nice getting the space to write about short films this year and i would love it if more outlets wanted to let me do that for them. a lot of these filmmakers deserve eyes on their work and people actually analyzing them instead of ignoring them in favor of features.
the hottest oscars discourse comes from me and kambole this friday afternoon, writing about a bunch of animated shorts that were eligible but, heartbreakingly, did not score nominations this year.
i simply believe that if you are a non-profit organization who promotes themselves as inclusive and essential to minority communities, then you should not be using technology that is inherently harming those very communities you claim to support
miami arts organizations will simply not rest until they replace any of their decent marketing with grotesque AI generated imagery and, frankly, it's hitting the point where i am just never becoming a member to any of them again
please let me convince you to watch a stop-motion short about a bartender who wished for a 12 inch [redacted]

biggest thanks to @kambole.bsky.social @thesaintoftous.bsky.social @rollinbishop.com for letting me hop in here and write about some of my favorite shorts of last year (most of which are linked to in the newsletter!) while also trying to coax people into watching hundred year old shorts too π

Our crowdfunding for Castration Movie Anthology iii. Year of the Hyaena is now live :3 www.kickstarter.com/projects/wea...
Extremely excited for folks to see everything weβve shot so far for the next one β and to realize some really insane ideas for things to come once we have the $
smashed that backing button like nobody's business
Restrictions this year include: $40 parking rates in garages on South Beach for non-residents. Rates may increase to $100 at the city manager's discretion License plate readers on the MacArthur and Julia Tuttle causeways Prohibiting amplified music on the beach without a permit Security checkpoints at beach entrances every Thursday through Sunday during Spring Break $548 towing fees for nonresidents
We had to cancel our spring break timed Spring Breakers screening on South Beach two years ago because they shut down numerous lots and started charging everyone, including non-SoBe Miami residents, $40-100 just to park anywhere near the theater. This idiocy continues this year as well.
IMPORTANT INFO FOR OUR PATRONS Beginning Thursday, March 5, the following high-impact measures will be in place every Thursday - Sunday throughout the month of March. The City of Miami Beach has implemented strict safety measures for Spring Break 2026. If you're visiting us, please plan accordingly! Traffic & Parking Restrictions: Patrons may enter past the blocked road on 12th Ave and park at the 12th Street Garage (G2). You MUST print and your ticket or have it readily AVAILABLE on your phone for entry. Show it to the officials. No exceptions. Beach & Entertainment District Restrictions: Limited access points (5th, 10th, and 12th Streets) with security screenings. Recommendation: We strongly encourage using a car service (Uber, Lyft, taxi or free water taxi ) instead of driving, as traffic will be heavy and parking limited. The periods between March 12-15 and March 19-22 are expected to generate the largest spring break crowds this year. As such, more stringent measures will be implemented during these two weekends.
I know I've complained about Miami Beach's idiocy and how their outright racism directly impacts local business and clients, but I have to admit, I don't think I ever expected it to get to the level of "to even park here you need to literally show you have purchased a ticket" to go see a movie.
you know what little mermaid gave us that moana could never??? neil cicierega's ariel needs legs
if you vote for lin-manuel miranda over howard ashman, you should be sent directly to jail
i would absolutely LOVE to live on my own, ideally near my best friends, but considering a one bedroom apartment in miami is $2000+ and a two bedroom ranges $2700-3200, unless you're willing to live in a random family's questionably built efficiency for $1500, i'm forever fucked lol
nobody can afford a fucking apartment without roommates
