If you haven't switched out of US- & billionaire-ran WhatsApp, I can strongly recommend Signal. Works the same, but doesn't benefit rich assholes. It's a super straight-forward switch.
If you're already on Signal, consider making a donation for the cool rocket badge. It's a really cool badge.
Hades even though it's also GPU the idea of using just bink videos for all character animations could be interesting for you :) They've moved away from that in Hades 2, but most (if not all) of their previous games used that technique.
One weekend wasn't enough :P I recommend these for you:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=SV-n... - building your own GPU on FPGA
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj9e... - Hades - great for isometric and character rendering
www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kS1... - Cocoon - full GPU, but still worth watching for inspiration
GPU Zen 3 book
Santa brought me a gift a little bit earlier <3
I had Cocoon on my list of games to play for quite some time. I decided to give it a go after watching the talk from Mikkel Svendsen about the rendering in it. Absolutely love the talk and the game. Both created with love, creativity and meticulous attention to details!
I'm positively hyped for Intergalactic! It looks amazing <3
Hate unfortunately is too common these days, especially that it's a tool used by many influencers. Don't let it get to you and keep up the amazing work!
I can tell you after the weekend ;P. Although I presume no. BUT still, it might inspire you and give you some ideas to implement in a software renderer :)
Late to the party, but I've just noticed that the Graphics Programming Conference shared all the talks from 2024 on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tost...
So many great talks! I know what I'll be doing over the weekend :P
Here's a recording of my Tiny Glade presentation from the Graphics Programming Conference 2024:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=jusW...
It's an any% speedrun of our GPU-driven rendering, shadows, global illumination, water, and DoF, involving a few weird tricks.
I love to read those breakdowns and really do recommend all the other ones by @mamoniem.bsky.social. Amazing job as always <3

Sure, you've played Snake. But could you play it blind? Snake in the Dark is a total re-imagination of the timeless arcade & puzzle game classics like Snake and Sokoban.

Repost if you can π
You can find a lot of fake artists on Spotify. It's sad, that's why listen to bands you know!
Somehow I missed that :P Thanks a lot for the list and for adding me to it! It's a really great idea <3
Is there still a place for me? :)
Gigi viewer created by SEED group at EA, showing a stanford bunny with a shell texturing shader
I found some time to test Gigi by EA SEED. It's in an early stage, but it definitely has a lot of potential, so I'm looking forward to next releases! @demofox.bsky.social is really helpful on the Gigi Discord.
I did a simple shell texturing, as to do Compute+Mesh the tool needs more features :)
Graphics Programming weekly - Issue 366 - November 17th, 2024 www.jendrikillner.com/post/graphic...
I'll be there :) Plan to attend as many talks as I can!
If you're games industry and following some folks already, reply with who you are and what you do, and then re-post this or whatever it's called. Let's try and find each other on this new place
Hey all! I'm Radek and I've been making games for 8 years. For a long part of my career I was an indie dev leading a small programming team and touching all aspects of gamedev. Currently I'm focusing on Graphics Programming at PixelAnt Games.
Reminder for graphics folks to follow the rendering list, even if you joined via the Starter Pack:
bsky.app/profile/did:...
The list already has 10-20 interesting people that wonβt fit in the starter pack, and those people may not find each-other since neither will have auto-followed the other.
From what I see you need to tag ozone birb house and they'll assign it to you manually. Just trying it out :D
Hello @ozone.birb.house. GameDev here :)
Woohoo π finally :D
I tried going through my following for anyone that seemed to mention graphics / engine dev / etc, and added them all to a starter pack. I might have missed people, or included people I shouldn't, but it's at least a start! Please let me know anyone else that should be included!

I love the Graphics Programming Weekly by Jendrik Illner, so being listed in it really means a lot to me β€οΈ

If you want to learn about Mesh Shaders and understand where they can be used, and already are used, check out my talk from #dd2024: youtu.be/3EMdMD1PsgY?...
