If you want the reader to have both stories at the top of mind when they reach the point of convergence, I would arrange it so that chapter 1 is character A, chapter 2 is character B, and so on.
Of course you can write in whatever order you like and rearrange later, which is what I do.
So much depends on the story itself. Do you want the reader to have the entire context of the story before they experience the second (or third, and so on) POV? Or do you want them to experience the story from the various POVs simultaneously? Just my $0.02.
Breakfast of Champions was the first Vonnegut novel I ever read, so naturally I was intrigued by the film adaptation. Turns out that the removal of voice/interiority from the narrative makes for insanity, and not the good kind. Egads.

I’ve cast aside the chains of my body, dad.” Hank looks distraught, and entreats “you get out of my head right now, Bobby.” Bobby replies “I’m not in your head, dad, I am you. I am everything.
