The writing and performances are pretty corny for a AAA game in this day and age but it’s really fun and I like the puzzle/shooter dynamic a lot
When you beat it you unlock a suit that the silly robot child doodled on with markers

Man personally I can’t think of a more depressing path forward for a franchise as foundational and influential as Evangelion is in its own right than “Make it like that other mecha franchise, make a new one every few years with new characters and traumas until the name is just a brand”
I am morbidly curious to see how this pans out. The teaser they showed is giving Post-Third Impact and I would unfortunately be drawn in like a bloodhound if we had a story Post-EOE. But overall I just feel like it’s pointless and tacky.
Furthermore, I don’t see a point to Eva either without his voice or without the characters. Yoko could do something entirely different, sure, but why even make it Eva then? Eva is defined by its cast, a new one would feel like cheap fanfiction or something that should’ve been original
I know he wants it to be like Gundam, I know he views it very differently than we view it, but it doesn’t exactly make the message of its last film ring true anymore if we’re gonna keep holding onto the silly purple robot
Yoko Taro and the NieR team making a new Neon Genesis Evangelion anime is like the nuttiest thing Anno could decide on in his quest to expand the franchise beyond himself, but even that does not shake me from the belief that more Eva is less than pointless
