The stunning remains of this wreck sit on a pebbled beach with a backdrop of rainforests. We're looking past the remnants of the bow, through driving rain into the Hecate Strait, the notoriously rough waters that drove the 264-foot log barge aground during a winter storm in 1928. On this day we were to take a day long zodiac ride to SGang Gwaay UNESCO World Heritage Site and National Historic Site: Cancelled due to rough seas. It makes me wonder why I thought this trail was a good idea. I guess I wanted to test my raingear. We came back on the following day to hike in the sunshine, which felt like it was a completely different place. The Pesuta Shipwreck Trail is one of the most popular hiking trails on Haida Gwaii.

Interior of Prometheus Cave. Stalactites and stalagmites are illuminated in this limestone cave. There are smooth surfaces, but mostly sharp textures. It is located in the country of Georgia, near Kutaisi. There are tours, with multilingual guides. No touching the 70 million year old mineral formations!
