Honestly...not good. Big zeros across the board so far (and I'm not really optimistic that it'll improve)
Harlyn (the FMC of the Bounty Hunter arc) is an initiate to the Caladrius Order & considered a 'high-bracket' target due to her association with the guild & her potential as a valuable bartering chip/captive (mostly due to her intelligence).
for dark arts magic (specifically torture spells).
Skabor (the MMC of the Bounty Hunter arc) is a bounty hunter who leads a crew of bounty hunters working exclusively for the Garmr Reapers. He's considered an infamous, highly skilled bounty hunter & goes by the alias 'the Snatcher.'
the start of the series and is starting to turn 'hot' again at the beginning of book 1 of the Dark Arts arc (the chronological beginning of the series).
Adolfus (the MC of the Dark Arts arc) is the general of the Garmr Reapers, making him 3rd in the hierarchy. He's infamous for his talent & skill
In the Grimoire Archive there's a civil war going on in the Welleshire region between the Caladrius Order (the guild that controls the region) & the Garmr Reapers (an insurgent group that wants to become an official guild & take control of the region). The war has shifted from 'hot' to 'cold' before

hierarchy) and comes from a high-born (upper class) background. His role mostly entails following and delegation the Dark Lord's (the leader of the Garmr Reapers) orders, which can involve capture, torture/interrogation, leading missions, & murder.
-Sykes is an illegal alchemist who lives in a slum
-Harlyn is a Caladrius Order initiate (and full Caladrius Order guild member post GA:BH book 1) who comes from a middle-class background. She's viewed as "valuable" by the guild due to her intelligence.
-Adolfus is a high-ranking Garmr Reaper (specifically general which makes him 3rd in the
-Skabor is a bounty hunter (exclusively for the Garmr Reapers in GA:BH book 1) who comes from a poor background. He's the leader of a bounty hunter crew in GA:BH book 1, though the position doesn't come with much "prestige" (bounty hunters are viewed as expendable) & basically lives gig to gig.
orders him to do (usually related to enforcing the "laws" of the Blackbriar Isle region).
-Marek is a student (high school in GA:SC book 1 & college in GA:SC book 3 onward) from a lower middle-class family which immigrated to Uskait when he was 13. He's also a skilled competition warhound rider.
*Cracks knuckles* Okay, lets go through all the MCs for the Grimoire Archive series instead of picking just one.
-Hayden is the right-hand (second-in-command) to the Guild Master of the Guardian's Guild (though this fact isn't largely known). His job basically involves doing whatever the Guardian
And if anyone on here is interested in a Shadow and Bone X Dark Arts and a Daiquiri inspired urban fantasy it's available in ebook (and on KindleUnlimited) and paperback.

A graphic announcing that the book The Snatcher by Amanda N. Newman has made it into phase 1 of the SPFBO 11 event. An arrow points to the image of the book with the words "bounty hunter urban fantasy" above it. Another arrow points to the logo for the FanFiAddict blog with the words "to be reviewed/judged by" under it.
I should probably announce this here as well. The Snatcher has, by luck of the draw, made it to phase 1 of #SPFBO 11. I'm both anxious and cautiously excited to see how it's received by whoever reads it.
Hi #BluePitHype I'm a self-published urban fantasy author who's inspired by a variety of different things (ie: movies, tv shows, books, video games, etc). I became a writer through being an avid reader (both of books and fanfiction) who wasn't always happy with the canon endings of their favorites.

SoDA: Tonightβs mission was supposed to be simple. Takedown whoever the Caladrius Order sent to steal some important artifact from the Welleshire Council building archives.
Dekorth City docks, Sundercliff prison, the Aizbakir house (in Ebynscar), the Hell Divers Gorge Viaduct, and the gauntlet run.
There are several scary places in the Grimoire Archive (mostly associated with different characters' individual traumas). One place that is objectively scary is the Nightmare Dimension. Some subjectively scary places include: Castellani Estate (especially for Harlyn), Old Warehouse Row on the
In the Shrouded Curses arc of the Grimoire Archive series, there's actually a trading card game based around cryptids that one of the MCs plays (in book 1, at least)
I love them all. *hugs the doggos*
For the Grimoire Archive time period, there was a bunch of different inspirations that kind of all came together (my idea/inspiration process is very weird) & the list continues to expand. Some of the biggest ones were: Shadow and Bone, Yu-Gi-Oh, The Owl House, Arcane, Pokemon, & others I can't list
One of the most helpful aspects of the Grimoire Archive is that there is a branch of learnable magic that anyone can dabble in (whether they have broad-scale inborn magic, limited-scale inborn magic, or no inborn magic). However, the learnable magic is complex and some people have difficulty with it
Freki is basically the reason Warren became a werewolf (Freki was born a werewolf, Warren was turned) and resents him for that. They're also essentially on opposite sides of a war (Freki is a bounty hunter for the 'dark' side and Warren is a member of the 'light' side).
I'm personally very attached to Aussies (among other specific dog breeds). Tollers got on that list after I saw the movie Good Boy.
In the Grimoire Archive series, it honestly depends on which character specifically is being referenced. The problems can range from corrupt Guild Masters, the opposite side in a war, sentient Curses, poverty-stricken cities that might as well be twisted social experiments, prejudice, etc.
Shrouded Curses arc & the Dark Arts arc). He mainly works as a bounty hunter (though in later books he also does sex work on the side). Warren Ramsey is mentioned in and makes appearances in the Bounty Hunter arc and the Dark Arts arc. He's a member of the Caladrius Order.
There are at least two named werewolves in the Grimoire Archive series (Freki Malone and Warren Ramsey). They...don't exactly get along (there's some major bad blood there). Freki makes his debut as a major character in book 1 of the Bounty Hunter arc (he also makes appearances in the
-Inferno (an Askain Toller introduced in book 5 of the Dark Arts arc/book 4 of the Bounty Hunter arc)
-Nuggie (a blue merle Nar-Outba Shepherd introduced in either book 4 or book 5 of the Dark Arts arc)
-Orville (a black tri-color Nar-Outba Shepherd introduced in book 4 of the Dark Arts arc/book 4 of the Bounty Hunter arc)
-Millie (a blue merle Nar-Outba Shepherd puppy introduced in book 5 of the Dark Arts arc/book 4 of the Bounty Hunter arc)
Some of the named dogs mentioned in the series are:
-Orpheus (a double merle Nar-Outba Shepherd introduced in book 4 of the Shrouded Curses arc)
-Akicita (a mixed breed stray dog mentioned in book 1 of the Underground Alchemist arc)
