I'm finally leaving most of the smash related servers/FB groups today, about 12 years after I went to my first real tournament and after 10+ years of events.
I'm feeling a lot of emotions. It's hard for me even to describe what it means, really. I honestly don't know if I can.

So, I checked the melee singles reg numbers for Genesis in recent years.
2026: 973 (As of now, reg is closed)
2025: 1,074
2024: 1,544 (GX)
2023: 1,253
2022: 1,552* (This was G8, which moved to April from January due to COVID. This one had a lot of DQs due to the change of dates.)
I could not have scripted a better ending to over 10 years of tournaments for myself.

Got these hung up recently.
On the left is my old bucket hat, the first one I used for years in the old days. The hat on the right I got as a present at my birthday tournament back in August, signed by a good few of my friends.
I think I'll be keeping these. :)
The most real task of my whole year is now before me. Can't wait to get back and tell em some stories about what I saw this past weekend. :)

Feels so surreal having torn down a tournament for the final time. Thank you everyone who has made my time as a community leader so great. I'm proud to call you more than just a scene; you're family.

I am beyond grateful for all the lead and support staff who did great work today, along with all of my old and new friends who came through. Seeing so many friends that I've met over the last 12 years of my life has been really awesome. :)

Milestone reached: Sunset Melee is officially at 236 entrants for melee singles now with 3 days left to reg, which makes SM the biggest melee regional that the world has seen in the last 14 months.

2025 was a big year for me. It was tough at points, but I am looking forward to moving on to a new chapter of my life soon.
A lot of stress and unpaid work will be coming off my back, and I can't wait to get working towards being my best self in 2026. Happy New Year everyone!
