"The road is so foggy, foggy..."
@clairefaulkes.bsky.social
It's very calming, I find. I think the Sahara dust is making it worse. It's never this foggy here. It poured with rain earlier, and it was still foggy. I've never seen that before, I don't think.
The fog is almost heavier now than it was this morning. The houses that back on to mine have disappeared. The world is slowly vanishing before my eyes...
That soup might have been a bit* too hot**.
* definitely way too hot!!!
** chili. Owie!
Awwwww! It's funny how they lose that black fur as they grow. My Cassie dog looked like Tiger bread as a puppy, but all the black hair disappeared as she grew up to be very pale.

gray squirrel in tree hole, looking apprehensive
Monday morning Squirrel of the Day for March 9, 2026 #sqrlpix
Oh yes!
Didn't help. There's a lower parallel road that I usually go on on my way back, so I slipped down there and avoided the wost of it for some of my walk.
Yeah.
Except there was an odd extremely selfish older man walking just where I was going along the seafront for my peaceful walk, with a large speaker around his neck playing ridiculously loud drum and bass etc.
Yeah, I was aiming for that sort of effect, but I'm not a photographer, just a point, click, and hoper.
Eyewitness tried to tackle vape shop fire which led to inferno
Still doesn't trump the half a giraffe one.
This rarely happens here, sadly. I get out as soon as I see it's foggy, and quite often, in the 30 odd minutes it might take to get ready, it's already clearing. Treats like today are few and far between.
The same foggy lake scene as in the previous photo, with a couple of swans in the water, being the only thing that shows there's anything there at all.
The swans will see them off.

Check out this Green Head Ant in a water droplet refraction shot! And made using the iPhone 17 pro Max and Moment 75mm Macro II lens.
A longer write-up and a behind-the-scenes image is available on Flickr. :)
A foggy day in a green field recreational ground. Clear trees in the foreground to the left, trees obscured by fog to the distant right. The fog just seems to begin in a straight line across the field.
A large white wide appartment block apparently phasing out of the thick fog at the back of a green field.
Filling in the map on the way to the next quest...

Yes! I LOVE it!
A few steps back from the previous photo at the lake edge. A tarmac path with trees and grass surrounding it. Metal railings off to the left, and birds on the path in front of me. Where it is so foggy, it looks like the world ends at the paths edge.
A few steps back.
No, it's not a mistake. A virtually blank photo that looks like a it's just grey cloud. But it is in fact a very foggy view over a large lake. There's a slightly darker grey stripe across the horizontal middle of the photo, which is the trees on the other side of the lake.
Reached the edge of the map.

Squirrel of the Day for March 8, 2026 is Emma with her beautiful halo tail #sqrlpix
A photo of a solitary blue house with a red roof situated on a grassy hill with a winding dirt road in the foreground and snow-covered mountains in the background. Above them, a dramatic cloudy sky with sunlight breaking through is broken up by a large plume of gas/clouds from a distant volcanic eruption.

Just don't forget you are now tethered, and walk off as you used to...
A thing thatβs shocking me about the lack of coverage is air safety info. Hi, Glasgow folk, from a Southern Californian transplant: ash from old buildings is super gnarly. Please wear a respirator if you need to be near the scene.
Queen Street is still available, but it goes different places!
Reddit screenshot from Glasgow thread. Bright flames rising out the side of a Victorian building.
Video screenshot from Reddit. Building is now a shell with flames visible in every window.
The roof has collapsed embers rise into the night sky.
The fire at Glasgow central station is utterly devastating. Shops, homes and our transport link to England are being wiped out.
I am amazed by the limited news coverage.
