In the second photo the colours are faded, and there is a bit of pilling, but they have held up really well.

My husband wears these at least twice a week, washes them on warm in a load of laundry, and air dries them.

Supreme Court Says You Can’t File Tort Suits Against Postal Carriers Who Won’t Deliver Mail to Black People According to Clarence Thomas, mail that your mail carrier steals from you is really just β€œlost,” if you think about it.

You can't sue the government if postal workers accidentally drop the glassware you ordered or lose a letter from your pen pal

The Supreme Court ruled yesterday that this means you also can't sue if postal workers refuse to deliver your mail because you're Black

For the 11 varieties, the team used vintner and researcher archives to build a model for when each would bud, flower, and ripen in wine-growing regions around the world under three different warming scenarios: 0, 2, and 4 degrees of warming. Then they used climate change projections to see where those varieties would be viable in the future.

Losses were unavoidable in both warming scenarios, due to shifting temperatures and seasonal changes that would affect conditions while the varieties were ripening. These factors would affect the wines’ quality. But the team found that β€œby switching these varieties around, you can reduce losses by a significant amount,” said Cook.

With 2 degrees of global warming and no attempts at adaptation, 56 percent of the world’s wine-growing areas may no longer be suitable for growing wine. But if wine growers switch to varieties more suitable for the changing climate, only 24 percent would be lost. For example, in France’s Burgundy region, heat-loving mourvedre and grenache could replace current varieties such as pinot noir. In Bordeaux, cabernet sauvignon and merlot could be replaced with mourvedre.

the company portrayed the Hanson Spur as a lifeline for Sparta and Hancock County, projecting more than $1.5 million a year in β€œeconomic benefits.” At a Public Service Commission hearing, Sandersville’s representatives repeated that figure, framing the spur as a rare development opportunity in a rural county that has seen decades of disinvestment and is regarded as the poorest in the state.

But under oath, when regulators pressed for details, Tarbutton acknowledged he would not hire a single new operating employee to run the trains on the new line. Instead, he pointed to the quarry, suggesting it would add up to a dozen jobs at salaries of about $90,000 a year. The quarry’s owner later undercut that claim, testifying that any new workers would earn closer to $24 to $28 an hour β€” decent wages, residents noted, but far from the $90,000 jobs that had been held out as part of the project’s upside.

To bolster its case that the spur would serve the broader public, Sandersville also pointed to five small businesses it said would use the line, including one company that Sandersville Railroad solely owns through its LLC.

A representative from this company, Southern Chips, which provides wood chips to pulp and paper mills, told Capital B they plan to utilize the railroad if it is built and that Sandersville Railroad is the sole transporter of their products.

β€œMy family, and the other Tarbuttons of my generation, however, are responsible for how we lead today,” he added.
