If you've been thinking about giving the Bookstore Romance Day tea blend a try, now would be a good time.

I was really worried about getting my kids in there for the same reasons. (I was already up to date)
Hard same. Give me every vaccine. My uncle Lou had polio. He had to have a ton of surgeries. Used canes, then a walker. Died fairly young. The idea that we have this gift of vaccines that most of us can take (I know some people canβt) but people opt out of justβ¦flabbergasts me.
My mom nearly died from polio and spent several years of childhood bedbound, to the point where more than 7 decades later she still carries trauma from it. Fuck off with this fraud talk. Give me all the vaccines you have.
I've never used grammarly but if you have an account, I'd throw it in the trash and set it on fire because what the actual fuck
Whatβs fucking enraging about this is that every lovely turn of phrase the AI churns out is human-authored. Google each fragment of the below - βforged in dying stars,β βcreated in stellar furnaces,β βthe universe is not indifferent to us,β βimplicated in something vastβ - and youβll find a source.
It was very validating when my doctorβs eyes got wider and wider as I explained payout schedule, delays, etc.
When I was done she said, βthat sounds very stressful. The psychologist is here today. Iβll see if she can see you right now.β π
I like to call writer earnings, βsad math.β
Sometimes I give a brief overview of how writers get paid to young writers and completely bum out an entire group of writers.
Sometimes I do the same for my doctor to explain why I need a therapy referral for anxiety.
Lots of cool stuff up for bid including signed books from me!

Iβm so excited! If you remember, you might want to mention that youβll be at the Seward Park location, because there are three Third Place Books locations and they are not close to each other at all. π
And just in case Seattle can't get enough of me, while I'm there, I will also be appearing at Third Place Books with @lishmcbride.bsky.social to talk about Enchanting the Fae Queen.
I'd love to see you at both events!

Thatβs what I get for not clicking further into the IMDB listing. π
Tonight is the night. Place your clock on the altar. Light the black candle and say the words that bring the wolf that eats the hour.
Info on the new BLM plan to clear cut Oregon old growth forests so regime buddies can rake in cash without any consideration of ecosystems, watershed, salmon habitat, recreation, etc etc.

Yeah, weβre showing Smalls the original before we leap into the show. Apparently the same writer did both?
The movie poster for the Burbs (1989) with Tom Hanks standing in The road, a hose in one hand and a spatula in the other,. The background is full of ominous clouds
Tonightβs film:
Me, after stopping by a bookstore to drop stuff off: I did buy one bookβ¦
Smalls: wow, you really restrained yourself.
Me: Rude. Accurate, but rude.
Why should you preorder? ππ
As @charliejane.bsky.social explains, it helps make you a citizen of literature!
Preorders from indies encourage the indies to stock and advertise the book to other readers.
If you can help, it would be appreciated!
Lish, a very pale while woman with tattoos lounges in a pink robe with feather trim. She has a glass of wine in one had, an old fashioned pipe in another, and a can do attitude. She sits in an old green velvet chair and is absolutely wearing sweat pants with this ensemble.
For current me, Iβm going with this pink robe. For someone with a wardrobe that is almost entirely black, this really pops.
A small child wearing a blue trucker hat from a fertilizer company attempts to commune with some goats.
So, itβs a toss up. For past me, I feel I was absolutely iconic in my choice of comfort item. Most kids had a blanket. I had a blue trucker hat advertising a fertilizer company. My dad hated it and kept throwing it away. I dug it out of the trash. I made my grandpa sew the bill back on.
Fun thing to think about very briefly: who currently has better lawyers, the United States or Nintendo
2/3rds of the way through the crowdfund, folks, but not yet 2/3rds funded. Wanna help out Sleeping Wizards??
The world needs more stories where bad guys get what's coming to 'em, TBH.

A very nice review of Most Likely

Folks flying in for ECCC: If you *can* take the light rail from SeaTac, I strongly recommend you do. The main route into Seattle, I-5, is operating at reduced capacity while undergoing repairs, so traffic is gnarly and heavy delays are likely going by car.
Nope! Weβre a union, and that means even when you get in fistfights during practice, you show up when the lights are on come Sunday.
Weβre all in this together, and weβre all on the same team.
One of my editors once said, βwhat is your thing with prehensile tails?β Because I guess I talk about them more than most, so I think we all know my answer is #1
