Realising Iβm not sure how Iβd write a novel without my two writing groups giving me feedback (and encouragement) right from the start anymore! @leicwritersclub.bsky.social and Leicester Speculators, you rule
Love that Amazon has grouped me with two TV stars for an offer at the moment π. (Harriet from The Traitors is a brilliant writer, by the way - I havenβt read Louise Minchinβs book though so canβt comment!)
The paperback of My Darling Boy is also on offer by itself at Β£3 at the moment
Very thankful for PLR payments in these times when being a self-employed writer can feel precarious! Over 12,000 people borrowed my books from libraries last year, and authors get a small payment for each loan. Thank you librarians and readers!
Enjoyed writing about this much-debated topic! (And there was a lot more I could have said!) Prologues, yes or no? Interested in your thoughtsβ¦ π
Pleased to have another short article published by Writersβ & Artistsβ Yearbook, this time on the contentious subject of novel prologues!

Unsolicited writing advice, no.326:

Itβs tough in the writing industry at the moment but Iβve been so inspired talking to other writers who are diversifying and working their socks off to be able to keep doing it. Channeling that energy into 2026!

Sometimes Iβll find a sentence in my MS thatβs been there since the very earliest draft & realise it doesnβt really belong in the book anymore but Iβve just stopped noticing it. Kind of like an old piece of wallpaper when the rest of the house has been redecorated

Decided to delete a detail about condoms in a cupboard from my WIP as it became irrelevant. Searched βcondomsβ to delete all refs & now itβs in my search box permanently. Every time I bring up my chapter list or search for something else, Iβm haunted by condoms. Opened a different doc & same π€£
