I'm not quite ready to celebrate but I do want my $3000 back.
SLING4RS is good, check it out!
Gamers! My friend Whitneyβs upcoming crowd funding campaign for THE OLD, THE COLD, THE BOLD is switching platforms to BackerKit. Itβs a new edition of this tabletop RPG of gig economy crimes and itβs worth checking out! π¦βοΈ

Whitney is one of my favorite designers and a frequent Nerdy Pup contributor. The character dynamics in OLD-COLD-BOLD are peak, check it out!
I have a conflict this year, so won't be there this year, but maybe next year! Thanks for sharing your experiences. I didn't really know anyone beforehand, and have a consolidator for retail that sells much better than I do. I met a few designers in the playtest area, that was the highlight for me!
I went to GAMA Expo last year, mostly struggled to figure out what to do with my time there. I really could have used a guide/mentor. For a self-publishing board game/ttrpg designer, what would you recommend doing at Expo?
Thank you for doing this! π

I may be a little late, but the No ICE In Minnesota bundle on Itch.io is a metric f-ton of games with a massive amount of games that absolutely rip. Fist, Apocalypse Frame, Hardcase, Rebels of the Outlaw Wastes, How's My Driving, Thieves of the Tome, for $10 this is amazing!
I was trapped in a work meeting all day, but thrilled to share! 600+ creators, 1439 projects. Help us support the Immigration Law Center of Minnesota! β
A better comparison than cheating is "spotlighting" in ttrpgs. You want each player's character to have an opportunity to shine, rather than one player talk to every NPC and roll to solve every problem. It's a learned skill to do this well as both GM/player. Good rules can help you learn this skill.
I love the House Fossoway boys that can only speak and think in apple metaphors. ππ
15 hours left to submit your game! π
A thing to know about #Ohio (and this is true of a lot of red states) we are Red on the outside but Blue on the inside. And the voices that speak up against this lawless regime have been throttled effectively through gerrymandering & other means.
We need all the help and support you can give
One more:
"Hold ideas lightly" is an essential GMing skill that most rulebooks leave you to figure out on your own. Graham spells it out.
"Be obvious" is one of the most important pieces of advice I've received for all of my creative endeavors, rpgs and otherwise!
Play Unsafe taught me that protecting my character from bad things happening to them was also protecting them from the most interesting stories.
Hi Graham, big fan since the story games days.
Play Unsafe opened my eyes to both the inherent defensiveness in traditional play and the world of stories I was missing out on by saying "no" instead of "yes".
True story, I GM'ed Descent into Avernus and my favorite part was the fraught factionality of Baldur's Gate.
Nice, hope it's a good panel!
Oh, like how to write a SRD?
A quick review of IndieCade 2025 nominees, we are very proud that our 2025 release, Super Squad High, is among these other great games from indie creators!
Sneak peek at character art for our upcoming #ttrpg, Hotel Olympus! π¨π©οΈ
