The novelty blogs are an underrated feature of Tumblr, like I'm literally following a blog that just posts pictures of lichen and another one that's all pictures of semi trucks with the word "trans" on them

people make fun of Tumblr but it's nice to take a break from The Horrors and scroll through a social media feed that's just cool pictures and dumb jokes

A black and white comic book panel, depicting a group of female pirates bursting into a ship filled with pompous rich folk in high hats and bonnets. The pirates are wielding sabres and revolvers. The pirate leader screams, in Spanish: "Everybody up against the wall, you cretinous, degenerate capitalists! Your lives and your fortunes belong to us!"
A man in a top hat and suit exclaims "It's an attack!" and a bonnet-wearing lady says "It's piracy! It's those damned feminist corsairs!"
Save us, feminist corsairs!

Would love to connect with a Seattle-based, trans graphic designer to do some flyers for an event by/for trans people in Seattle.
Would be compensated.

"This is what the jackboots actually look like, people. We have seen the enemy, and it's right here at home."
This was a meeting about a mild transportation project to decrease speeding, improve lighting, and make an accessible barrier protected trail.
Or a totalitarian invasion? Hard to know.

(Beartato and Reginald, in a museum, gaze upon the Mona Lisa)
BEARTATO: There it is. The Mona Lisa. The most famous painting in history.
REGINALD: Wow! What's it do?
BEARTATO: It... what?
REGINALD: Why's it famous? What's it do?
(Beartato thinks.)
BEARTATO: I don't know.
REGINALD (to nearly museum employee): Excuse me! Sir? What's it do?
EMPLOYEE: You're the first person to ask! Watch this!
(The employee yanks a pull-string. Mona Lisa's eyes spin around and her mouth opens like a puppet)
MONA LISA: Honk honk! Honk honk!
(Everyone is delighted. This is true art.)

I knew I'd get too old to recognize new celebrities but I did not expect to get too old to recognize what celebrities are famous for. every day I go "is that a new singer" and then a person born in 2007 goes "ew no they're a peeble streamer
on doop" as linch closer to the grave

counterpoint!
the absolute fastest way to render yourself unemployable is to build your skillset around a tool that does your thinking for you, that everyone has access to, and that one company can change or take away at any time

Good to know! Probably 95% of the time this car will be used for my 10 mile commute to work and grocery store trips so I plan on only charging it with a basic 110v outlet in my driveway. The guy who's selling it to me said to avoid quick charging if possible to prolong battery health

I'm so glad I know how to fix stuff like this. For me it was an annoying early morning trip to Home Depot for a $14 part and some fiddling around with a couple wrenches
If I hadn't known how to fix it, it would have been a probably $200 call to a plumber and several hours of my day
