Itβs not always easy to explain my work. Public health & community safety donβt seem like an obvious pair β but the impact is real. Iβm proud of what weβre achieving at City Hall, with Londonβs VRU and MOPAC. The results speak for themselves: www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
On World AIDS Day, we remember all those we've lost to HIV/AIDS related illness and unite in our battle against the virus.
Weβve committed to zero new transmission of HIV in the capital by 2030. Weβll continue to work with partners to tackle the stigma of getting tested and treated.
Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

A woman who's fled conflict in Darfur, Sudan
In conflict zones, women are not only deliberately targeted through gender based violence but also suffer from the collapse of vital systems.
The consequences are catastrophic yet routinely sidelined in humanitarian responses

Boo! Get well soon, my lovely. Sending you positive vibes xxx
AHH, so that's where you were last night. We missed you!
Itβs always a bit cringe watching yourself in a video, but this one is pretty good (and thankfully Iβm not in it for too long).

This is such an uplifting part of my job: being part of the efforts to get London to zero by 2030 is both a pleasure and an honour
Iβm at the Partnership for Healthy Cities conference with a stellar bunch of colleagues from London for the next few days. @profkevinfenton.bsky.social @ldn-health.bsky.social @joannemccartney.bsky.social @vitalstrategies.org @who.int #cities4health
New analysis from @theifs.bsky.social adding more weight to the role that poor mental health - is playing in the rise in disability benefit claims.
This problem will only be addressed through a concerted prevention strategy that puts in place the building blocks of good health.
Itβs your last chance to comment on Londonβs new Police and Crime Plan - the consultation ends at midnight on Wednesday, and thereβs plenty in there about taking a public health approach to policing and crime π

@ldn-health.bsky.social
Underfunding public health is a false economy - we need more investment in prevention if the NHS is to achieve the goals of its Long Term Plan.
I worked with MOPAC on this a while ago, to help them consider how a consistent appropriate adults service can help to tackle health inequalities for some of our most vulnerable Londoners. I am so pleased to see this has come to fruition.
Iβm having a great day in Bristol at the UK & Ireland Fast-Track Cities Unconference 2025. Itβs so inspiring to meet with colleagues from across the four nations to find new ways of sharing learning and working together. @londonftci.bsky.social @ldn-health.bsky.social #fasttrack2025
And not forgetting @profkevinfenton.bsky.social , @doitldn.bsky.social and @sexualhealthldn.bsky.social giving evidence β London is working hard to end new HIV transmissions, but we canβt afford to be complacent or take our foot off the gas! @ldn-health.bsky.social @londonftci.bsky.social
Today the London Assembly is scrutinising Londonβs response to HIV, in its second session on this topic. Itβs always great to hear from grassroots HIV organisations as well as our international colleagues at GGD Amsterdam. @positiveeast.bsky.social @bashhuk.bsky.social
GP have such a huge role in transforming the treatment & care of people living with HIV. Iβm proud to celebrate the first Pan-London network of GPs, & hope this is just the start. @ldn-health.bsky.social @londonftci.bsky.social
And hereβs me, using the force to activate our public health levers in London
@ldn-health.bsky.social
Great presentation from @profkevinfenton.bsky.social at todayβs Public Health Workforce conference in London
Whatβs that, Professor Chris Whitty? You say that Londonβs Fast Track Cities programme is a shining beacon of good practice? Why thank you, Sir! www.gov.uk/government/n...
This is where I work and what I do
So proud to be part of this!
It was such a fabulous night and a huge fundraising achievement - you are Daisy should be very proud of yourselves X
