Just in!
@havencoffeenbooks
Independent bookstore/coffeeshop that also provides a small game room, tabletop games, space for local artists to show and sell their work, as well as locally roasted coffee, a really expensive espresso machine, used and rare books, located in Aurora, CO
Just in!
One observation living as an autistic: you are always expected to adapt and conform to others norms and expectations, and yet none of them are expected in any way to adapt and conform to your norms and expectations. But perhaps this isn't an autistic thing, but a person one?
I lost. I complained too much and I must buy her a tattoo. She's going for a thigh tat of the Witch King Of Angmar
Please come by during our operating hours (7a to 5 p) and play along: if i whine more than 5 times I have to buy my coffee manager a new tattoo. In addition, however unpolished we might be, we will officially be opening on Monday the 15th!
Allright all! I have been given permission to say: Friday we will be doing a practice run so we can practice making sales etc. Drinks and merch will be discounted, so long as you don't mind listening to me cuss as I attempt to froth milk.
Apparently I'm supposed to do businesses things and not go on about shed mice. We'll, what the hell, I never figured out the hashtag blethers anyway
Also, my eldest, out of pity I think, is volunteering to take over the social media for our shop. She is an extremely good and kind soul, so when I tried to tell her about the adventures of Scribbles the Shed Mouse, she went very still and blinked a lot. I then knew I fudged up
I got utterly destroyed in Yu Gi Oh today til I remembered to strategize against the player and not the cards. I won one with my shitty deck and I feel glorious
Awed/grateful for the people I get to meet. First was the brilliant key fob lady: a critter and plays dnd. Second was two warm and gentle souls who agreed to play yu gi oh with me. I don't care if I get whooped. I get to pIay! I didn't realize my dream would lead me to so many wonderful people
After a row with my book manager: a vent. Every single person on this planet has a staggeringly complex web of personal connotation and denotations informing their thoughts and speech. Why the FUCK would you think I'd automatically know yours and berate me because I don't???
I have two go to comfort movies. The first is Midsommar and the second is Last Holiday. This probably makes me cuckoo for coco puffs but I dinae care
Man, someone is going ham on the laundry. Its a chill and cloudy wintery night but all I smell is dryer sheets.
I call the second mouse Sqonkers because he squeaks like a rubber duck. He doesn't come around much.
I gave Scribbles his thanksgiving 'plate'. He loved it. But wouldn't ya know, cousin Squonkers wanted it too. Sorry, Squonkers, but Scribbles is first in my heart. I told them both to stop fighting, and they did for a while. Even mice have thanksgiving drama, apparently.
Thinking of making a 'plate' for Scribbles the Shed Mouse for tomorrow. Thinking a cracker with a teeny bit of cooked plain chicken, flaxseed and a little peanut butter. He was mad at me today for not giving him his churro con rueda.
Scribbles is well, but winters pall has me in my morbs. I looked it up and wild mice only live a few months. One day, I'll put down his favorite, a churro de rueda, and I won't hear him munching it with the sound of a hundred mice. Memento mori for a mouse
Scribbles is well. I was a bit worried when he didn't take his latest treat, but he's back and making enough noise for 20 mice. In other news, we open soon! Though I now have the dubious experience of getting a two star review for not being open yet. I mean, how do you even respond to that?
I think they will love it. My students and my own children were obsessed. We still quote it years later, and its the only book on history that made me legit weep over a cockroach.
I was a teacher for 22 years and in all that time I had one student who didn't love the Gregor the Overlander series. Highly recommended
Scribbles is doing well and we passed our last inspection! Now we must learn what all the buttons on the POS do
I like this very much. After years of trying to make 'cool' mains, I ended up with Meepo, my red kobold who licks everything and whines for sardines, crackers, and booze
I anticipated a few things when setting out to open my own business. I did not anticipate the two dozen new types of taxes that I previously did not know existed.
Scribbles is apparently a huge fan of churros de rueda. He just demolished a wheel of it, and is presumably sleeping it off
Meepo approves message
Wait. WAIT. Book advent calendars are a thing?
Bigwig is the Han Solo of Watership Down.
Please let me know if you do more watership down merch, I don't come here often but am a huge wd fan
Not sure barfing cinnamon is worth it. Speaking from experience. It burns a lot coming up
I call my main shed mouse Scribbles, because the noises he makes sounds exactly like a quill pen on paper. He is very loud. Not sure how he hasn't been eaten yet.
