That and with it being the first returning player season, people were blindsided with being betrayed by friendships that they cultivated for years. Betrayals are fun but it’s not fun to see them gutted by them, and then super bitter at the final 2.

For me it’s dark in a viscerally uncomfortable way. Not even just the Sue and Richard stuff. These people just did not look like they had fun at all and there was a dark cloud over the season. Also the fact that prize amounts were doubled meant that the big alliance was just content with going out.
