Woman lounging in the chair with her feet on the matching chrome bench ottoman, this image also features a white flokati rug and a white Sanremo floor lamp. The chair design emerged from the simple yet unusual idea of using a strip of brown Pirelli rubber as a seat. At first glance, the rubber’s taut surface and the triangular mirrored steel frame doesn’t really resemble a functional chair until someone sits in it, and the chair assumes the form of recognizable seating. Once the weight of the body is removed, the surface snaps back into place. The Sanremo lamp is composed of a slender metal trunk topped by foliage like a stylized palm tree, formed by lanceolate transparent or fluorescent green methacrylate leaves that radiate light.

This design was a tribute to early modernist architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

My daughter is a high school art teacher. Recently she worked with the kindergarten art teacher and she had her kindergarteners draw monsters. My daughter had her high school students sew plushies of the kindergartners’ creations
