My review of the Marathon Sever Slam is that all modern shooter trends suck. In years past this would just be A mode I never boot in an otherwise cool FPS now it's somehow the only thing that Bungie has been working on for years and will either kill the company or become the only thing they ever do.

Yeah, just reading through all the explanations of stuff the game is trying to do outside of the core gameplay loop made me physically exhausted. It's baffling to me how they opted for this over just making a regular game.
