The statutory defence at s.5(3)(a) could be relevant if he can prove he didn’t reasonably believe anyone would be offended, however it looks busy and it isn’t just the people he shouted it at that would be included, it’s an interesting one

Hey blues it’s been a while been busy with life and stuff, I have a question for #legalbluesky am I right in thinking even though we could investigate MBW for the content of the EF we will more likely leave it to the USA as it’s an international linked investigation on their soil?

I've just read the sentencing remarks for HMA v Iain Owens, Elaine Lannery, Lesley Williams, Paul Brannan, Scott Forbes, Barry Watson & John Clark
and I often don't consider how complicated a process sentencing can be.

I learnt today that I should listen to my hunches, sent a client for a medical evaluation based on his version of events, turns out he does have a medical defence. Trust your gut people

I wish I had realized how much knowledge of Excel would benefit me in my legal career. The ability to reformat poorly formatted Cellebrite data dumps into usable, searchable data should never be underestimated.

Oh I completely agree, I'm just pointing out legally leaving the ECHR wont be as simple as leaving the EU was no matter what the likes of reform seem to think.

Leaving the ECHR: A Realistic and Viable Proposal?  - The Constitution Society Jane Richards investigates what the UK exiting the European Convention on Human Rights would actually require and asks if this is viable.

I honestly cant see him going anywhere, or this debate in January resulting in a new election. so i would say at least 4 years. even if the Tories got back in tomorrow the legal process to leave the ECHR will take years, this article explains it better than I can consoc.org.uk/leaving-the-...

Stand with Rojava, a beacon of hope for democracy, gender equality, and self-determination in the face of oppression. Their fight is not just theirs, it is a fight for freedom everywhere.

I wouldn't worry leaving the ECHR is not the same as leaving the EU was its a very long legal process and whatever people are shouting its doubtful the PM will even entertain the idea

Shelter condemns ‘shocking’ 14% rise in homelessness across England Charity says soaring private rents, rising evictions and lack of affordable social housing are to blame

14% increase in homelessness in a year. 1 in 47 people in London are homeless, 1 in 61 in Birmingham. There are dreadful, frightening figures.

1. A life tarrif in England and Wales starts at 25 years and then is decreased and importantly INCREASED based on mitigating and aggravating factors. It can be more than 25 years.

Afghan girl standing in an empty classroom.

It has been 1,164 days since the Taliban barred Afghan girls from attending school, robbing 1.4 million girls of their right to education. This is not only a tragedy but a global failure. #LetHerLearn
