I donβt think Reddit is an ideal art-sharing platform
To add to this, I donβt like it but I guess I wonβt be deleting my Patreon. Nobody moved their pledges to PayPal anyway when I tried, and those $16/mo actually matter to me. π«
But anyway. If we are mutuals and youβre on dA and I donβt follow you already please let me know/link me in replies. People can easily disappear from one platform or other these daysβ¦
The comments I see on submissions, profiles, journals, are all kindaβ¦ either disrespectful, entitled, horny, or it feels like Iβm getting a stroke reading them or the person writing them was having one. Iβm not sure how to explain it.
One of the places I returned to is deviantART as βSquelflandArtβ and I donβt think Iβll be posting art there or anything, given their AI policies (although consent is off by default) but primarily because I donβt really like what the userbase has become these days.
Never know if something ends up being sold to another company someday and goes back to its roots maybe. And things online are so weird and iffy these days that even if I donβt use a site it feels best to have a presence.
So recently I decided to reactivate/remake certain pages even if I donβt feel comfortable using the platforms given their policies or current cultures, just to avoid impersonation and in case those situations sometimes change (Tumblr kinda did, for example).
Hey, I don't know you, but you don't have to apologize for not being happy, you're grieving. Take it easy on yourself. I'm so sorry.
We are longtime friends, and I actually feel insulted that you would sub-post calling me a βlittle raincloudβ for expressing one negative opinion. It doesnβt invalidate your experience. Iβm saddened and surprised to see you write this.
Lordy, Alioth, condescending much? I donβt make a habit of sharing negative experiences, but I felt it was a valid point to bring up because setting up multi-site templates on PostyBirb took me a significant amount of time. And I am not the only one to experience the issues, by far.
And trust me I do know how to use the app well, Iβve been in the discord a long time too, I make bug reports, and all that. I wish it still worked for my workflow. But it is 100% no longer worth the trouble for me, and I post to likeβ¦6 or 8 places? I forget.
Each site needs careful checking anyway because of different limitations regarding tag locations, character limits, etc. It was a lifesaver for me for YEARS, but currently, Iβve experienced enough frustration that it is actually easier to post to these sites the old fashioned way.
I no longer really use PostyBirb. Lots of formatting bugs that then I have to go and fix (which Iβve reported and/or seen acknowledged, but fixes are not currently available or possible to do).
(It would have to be a not-too-complex character. It can't be something I can't finish during my drive, so while I could be ok with wings/huge tails/horns, etc for an extra $5 or so depending, complex markings are out for this one. But what is complex varies per artist, so feel free to ask me!)
I have a long drive tomorrow and can't work on the more detailed stuff I want to do while sitting in the back seat... π© But I still want to draw, and NEED $ sometimes. Does anyone want a $35 flat colored character (with a complementary patterned BG which I can add when I get back home on Monday)?
Thank you so much, Reaux! It's been a couple months and it really feels unreal, like "did that really happen to me??" and the best/most magical (and last) post isn't even up yet. But soon!

Kenny is wearing blue overalls with a yellow balloon applique on the front pocket over a red sweater, as well as brown boots. On his head he sports a long rainbow hat with a pom pom at the end and a matching scarf. Digital, full-color cartoon illustration featuring Kimba, a young fox kemonomimi with brown ears and tail, green eyes, and a brown birthmark on his right cheek. He is pulling a little red wagon in which his stuffed dog, Little Brother, is riding. Kimba is wearing a green striped scarf with a yellow star pattern, orange earmuffs with a yellow-and-green striped headband, blue pants, brown boots, and a sky-blue sweater with a snowy pattern and a snowman on the front. Digital, full-color cartoon illustration featuring Snow, a baby pizzly bear, wearing ight blue footie pajamas with yellow stars, and Loupy, a little pink glasses-wearing gray wolf with black headfur and a black-tipped tail, with white handpaws and feetpaws. Both are fast asleep, with Snow perched on top of Loupy. Loupy is wearing pink Christmas-themed pajamas and is sucking on a pacifier, while Snow, whose own pacifier is on the floor, is sucking on Loupy's ear, covering it in drool. Nearby is a toy plastic Christmas tree with soft rounded edges, which has spaces for toddlers to place toy ornaments. Some of these ornaments are on the toy tree, while several are spread on the floor around the pair. Crayons and a plate of cookies are also on the floor nearby. Snow's fox plushie, Ember, is sneakily leaning over to grab a cookie. A window framed by blue curtains with red bows is also visible in the background, and the night sky over a snowy landscape outside of it. Crayon drawings of a snowman and a Christmas tree are stuck on the wall, underneath an evergreen garland decorated with holly berries and a festive red bow. The artists' signature reads "M. Neira" and is marked as having been completed in the year 2026. A watermark with the URL "www.squelfland.com" is visible on the bottom. This artist is also known as "Squelfland".

Digital, full-color cartoon illustration featuring Wilk, a young shapeshifter blue lion-hybrid sort of critter with teal eyes and small black-gray feathery wings which are white-dotted at the edges. Wilk is standing in the middle of a grassy patch littered with fallen leaves in what is clearly a cool, crisp autumn day. They are surrounded by several big pumpkins. Their "mane" is made of many human-like hands of different colors (blue, yellow, pink, and purple) and the tuft of fur on their tail also sports these tones. Wilk is wearing teal overalls with yellow knee-patches and a red sweater while holding a big leaf which is in turn cradling a snail. Wilk is studying his slimy discovery with evident joy, while the little snail is looking back at them with what might be curiosity, but with a snail, who can tell? Several piles of fallen leaves along with trees showing the colors of the season are visible behind the pair. A purple border in a jack-o-lantern pattern frames the illustration. The artists' signature in the bottom right corner reads "M. Neira" and is marked as having been completed in the year 2025. A watermark with the URL "www.marinaneira.com" is visible on the bottom. This artist is also known as "Squelfland".
