I'm not going speak to specifically this because it's gross enough on its own merit. But as a small tangent...who are these men who WANT spineless, subservient partners? My wife being my equal and, oftentimes, an expert surpassing me is part of my love and attraction. It's her excellence and drive.

Depends on what you mean by real. It's got a script, and the winners and losers are predetermined, yeah of course. But I don't watch it like it's an NFL game or a UFC fight, I watch it like it's any other TV show - for entertainment, not as a sports competition.

Pretty clear that America's richest people got together in a room some time over the last 5 years & decided that Americans have gotten uppity -- demanding better wages & working conditions, asking for humane corporate policy & an end to racism -- and that they needed to be put in their place.

(1/2) Online discourse tends to suck. Add in nerd-friendly topics (board games, video games, for-consumption media) and the sad truth is that, b/c these hobbies draw in a lot of socially-repressed types, you get the horrors of normal online arguing plus an extra dose of their awfulness.

You and me both friend! I know if I hadn't left they'd have kicked me out eventually, but from the outside - with the perspective of growing up Catholic - we sure know the ins and outs of church culture.
I think a lot of folks try. I have an evangelical aunt and she knows we disagree on almost everything, but dammit she's a rock solid person and she tries to live the best of the Christian faith - charity, goodness, kindness. I love her to death. I think she'd still be good without religion though.

Christianity 101 from ANY of us who grew up in churches - it's 1000% more about *looking* the part than actually doing anything or being a good person. So many of the most rotten people I've ever met made sure they were front row center every Sunday.
