I am okay right now and I hope I will be okay in the near future. Postdocs are scarce and jobs are hard to come by. If you can advocate for others to find employment, pls do. If you can advocate, take care or even be kind to someone every day, pls do bc we need more light in this world.
The cognitive dissonance is real and it hurts so much. Pls check in on your colleagues, friends and family. It's all so heavy. And especially check in on folks you have some power dynamic over (advisor-mentee, teacher-student, collaborators, etc.). Personally, therapy and family are carrying me rn.
Trying to find a job in my field, when my communities are constantly being persecuted left and right, trying to work on paper reviews so I can resubmit to the journal, trying to finish my PhD when so many are being taken away from their families and their dreams are stripped from them
I've been pretty quiet on social media for a long time now. So much happening at the same time. Our country and especially our communities going through so much every day. Personally trying to finish my PhD, find employment post-PhD, deal with really tough family circumstances. It all feels so heavy
