I don't know if competing against the dying corpse of Greyhound Australia is really the best strategy

Greyhound Australia code share lol?
Good evening from Wallan outbound. On track for Albury tonight
Lovely day out in Creswick! Spring is on the way ๐
Ghan
Myki 2.0 on the Upfield line!
This will be the Northern Loop after the Metro Tunnel opens
Indeed, but such seems to be the plan
Very different projects and Perth's line has ongoing problems (some suggest it was poorly contracted)
$2 billion from the state. $2 billion from the Feds
"What's actually happening at Sunshine?" seems to be quite an important question at the moment
Here's my take from what we know so far. This diagram communicates how the $4 billion upgrade unlocks western suburbs electrification and more country services
Shown at Full Buildout
Well of course technically there are no sky scrapers in Adelaide and there won't be until Festival Tower 2 is built by 2027
It's now been pushed out of the top 10 by the past decade of high rise construction, and will slide further with new developments coming in the next few years
The list of tallest buildings in Adelaide is really funny because there's 4 of them all built in the last half decade and they are all exactly 1 metre taller than the other
I think this is the first time I've lived walking distance from a grocery store and I'm out of my mind about it. I'll walk there several times a day. Oh did I forget to grab something? No big deal I'll simply Walk To The Store
The western Swanston Street footpath outside the future State Library station has reopened this morning, after a closure that lasted about 6 months
The kerb has been extended and new signage is up for the station opening later in 2025
I have used the Conduent validators in Adelaide with QR codes and have found them very efficient to be honest
with any hope the new V/line digital tix will be the first fare products accepted at these barriers
New Conduent readers popping up around the network. Glenroy, Footscray, Moreland, Upfield. Note they are just a simple swap out of the reader module on both the older and newer gate styles.
Over Easter weekend ARTC have replaced the 100 year old bridge over the Light River with a new structure. Crews are still on site so TSR applies until works are finalised
you're never gonna believe what was 20 minutes behind it
It's been a few years since I last got good photos of the queen of the desert, one of the world's longest passenger trains and always some great variety on South Australian rails
Great to be back on the interstate mainline again. Today I engaged in a minor chase of The Ghan between Two Wells and Mallala, where recent ARTC upgrades have resulted in 60km/h speed restrictions - easy to beat in a car
I've decided I'm getting into heritage road coaches now
It's time
They are identical to the Adelaide readers
It's a good example of why using the existing new-ish readers on the Myki system would not have worked. These new Conduent readers allow innovation in ticketing products and more flexibility for travellers
The new Myki readers excitingly feature QR scanners above the screen that'll let you scan V/line tickets and other short term ticket types
This is already in use in Adelaide and allows new ticket products like group tickets. Great for flexible travel and tourists
Truly incredible. Have to give this a read
Yep
