Despite the arguments in favor of Joe Biden’s pardon of Hunter Biden, I disapprove of it as a matter of principle, just as I did for Trump’s conflicted pardons. The pardon power should not be exercised in cases of close personal interest, for donors or friends or family.

A couple years ago Revolut had a vibe of a big, but potentially existentially flawed, business. But their results seem to point to being big, profitable, ambitious, and successful. What other fintech companies are potentially much better than we believe?
