The Untamed.
It was a mixture of things, ratings were not terrible but production costs went up (which is why it looks significantly better in later seasons than 1 or 2 xD) and there were some marketing issues plus not much good faith from Sci-Fi. I rly enjoyed last season so I'm salty abt it all π
Stargate SG-1. Season 9 adds Cameron Mitchell, season 10 adds Vala Mal Doran. Both work pretty well. And mid-series Daniel Jackson disappeared for full season 6 and returned season 7 without issues.
And yet no drones from this night (and last couple of weeks tbh) entered Poland directly from Russia or affected the tiny PL region bordering with Russia. For ppl living right next to PL/UKR border, your joke doesn't read that well. But I guess that's the essence of Internet, random and tone deaf
... Ukraine still exists?

Hot take: Watchmen and Dark Knight only resonate when you understand the tropes they are breaking. Otherwise they are just brutal. Their big claim to fame was β comics have grown upβ Using them as examples of what will βget a kid into comicsβ is exactly what they are not made for.
Mine only works for Polish but ε·¦ is pronounced somewhat similar to Polish "zΕo" [zwo] which means evil and the left being the opposite of the right(eousnes) is evil-ish π And for ε³ I'm just going "not left" which, well...
Yes.

Oooh I just saw the airport personel throw my suitcase on the plane thingie! Looks like I have a chance at getting all my Important Conference And Travel Stuff β’οΈ with no additional issues!
But hey, at least they have us a voucher for EUR17 (use within 72 hours at Helsinki Airport) so all of us who missed their connecting flights can spend some quality airport time while waiting for the airlines to sort this out! And 17 euros is like... two coffees! Who wouldn't like some free coffee!
The Krasheninnikov Volcano: erupts in Kamchatka, sending shitton of ash in the air
My Mom two days ago: this might affect your flight, you know
Finnair while ppl are boarding in Haneda: π€«
Also Finnair, minutes after everyone goes phone mode: sooo... this flight is gonna take 15 hours oopsie
I have no facial recognition software and I was sitting at the registration desk during 2024 WorldCon. Did a whole lot of not recognizing xD
But a friend from times long past once didn't let the main star of festival onto the stage, forcing him to ID himself, which I have never done!
I think I accidentally introduced myself as a comics creator instead of scholar (A: I'm a researcher - S: Oh cool what's your field - A: I'm doing comics) while on Tokyo subway. 20+ minutes of VIP treatment and starry eyes can't be cause of comic research, right O_O

Isn't that Twitter & social media?
I most definitely remember packing waterproof plasters and yet they disappeared. Stolen from plane cargo, I'm telling you!!
(Or, way more probable: sitting on my bed one continent to the left, chilling alone in the empty apartment)

Not just undervalued but often hidden/happening in the shadows. Few years ago (before entering the world of academia) I translated about 200 pages of research texts for a person who wanted to become a professor and needed foreign language papers. She didn't credit me 'because she paid for it.'
Meh, meant Seoul (South Korea). Autocorrect why.
A photo of three identical posters with everything on them written in Korean and Google Translated. Second photo shows close up on two of the posters and third is identical but includes the machine translation added below. On the poster: A carriacture of Donald Trump in a cartoonish robber outfit, holding a gun in right hand and a bag with "Tax" written on it in the other. Above him, text: "We are not America's aircraft carriers or money machines. With a gun in one hand and a tariff in the other, Trump threatens the whole world! Our jobs, our economy, our food, our security are at risk!" Below the carriacture two bold lines, first one in white on a red background, second in red: "To Trump the robber. Let's send a letter of protest!" Next to the lines, a QR code.
Close up on the posters.
Same close up, this time with the machine translation from the first alt text
Seul, today. My comics research senses (and machine translation) tell me Trump is not a superhero on these posters (third photo or Alt text for the 1st one include the MT)
(Haven't checked the QR)

Dear people with smelly food on public transport,
You are my personal enemies. My thoughts are with you. A lot.
All the worst,
Miserable Human Being
All the ickiness of this tool aside, I wonder how they are defining 'everywhere.' Is this available oh idk... in China? And if not, how everywhere is their everywhere and how racist is their racism?
Me meeting sb for the 3rd time: "Nice to meet you!"
Conference season is on so basically, sorry in advance! Iβm neurodivergent and faces/names donβt stick unless I ACTIVELY learn them (flashcards style). So if I havenβt seen you 3+ times at increasing intervals, I will blank.

I wrote this yesterday - a little piece about how games model individuals, and the inherent politics therein.
Screenshot of Worldcon 2025 panel description reads as follows: Strong Woman Lead # LGBTQIA+ Culture/DEl Room 420-422, 9-10 a.m. Have you ever walked into a bookshop and asked for books with strong women leads? Perhaps you've requested that love not be a major plot point? Has the staff excitedly passed you half a dozen books that, though good, have a bit of a repeating theme? Here we ask the question: Why do authors/bookshops assume the only way to have a strong woman lead is to make them gay with a woman love interest and prevent men characters from rising over the background? Isn't it possible to have a book with strong women and men characters in it and not have them fall in love?
Iβm not attending Worldcon this year & everything seems to be a mess but this is so mind-bendingly bad on so many levels that I think itβs worth unpacking while Iβm in the no-space of airports
A photo of a shop window with a large printed graphic showing a pirate ship with a dice on it and a skull-and-crossbones flag. Below the ship, a banner reads "ALL ON BOARD." Underneath, text in Polish says "Centrum gier planszowych, komiksΓ³w i ksiΔ ΕΌek," which translates to "Center for board games, comics, and books."
A brand new (and possibly the only one in this town) games & comics store is opening abt 200 meters from my apt and I'm gonna take it as a sign from the universe that the powers that lurk intend to reshape my neighborhood so that it fits me better (next stop: queer library?)
This looks fun.
