But some activists say that's worse, because it implies there's a "true and authentic" hermaproditism. Which there isn't. Both terms are problematic, even if they are still used in medical diagnoses. The most neutral terms seem to be intersex or DSD (disorder/difference in sexual development)

So like ... the term hermaphrodite can be seen as misleading or even stigmatizing today. The true term would be intersex.
