May I commend the Winter Garden at #HarlowCarr in Harrogate, UK to you, my friends? What those clever people don’t know about cheering up the garden, with early flowers and layers of colour, patterns and texture, isn’t worth knowing. 😍 xx

I think they try to avoid cones these days if poss because they’re uncomfortable and prevent natural behaviour. If I could have avoided using one, I would, but JRTx would’ve been at his stitches all night long! 😖 Sometimes it’s the least bad option.

Yes! It’d be rude not to, don’t you think? 😜 We bought a couple of ‘rascals to take home and enjoy tomorrow.
They’ve already got their Easter window display in place - so pretty. They told me the giant egg weighs 5kg and costs £395. Apparently they sell about 15 giant eggs a year!

Pale blue striped flowers with mid-green foliage. The Lebanon squill is native to the mountains of Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and Syria. Flowering here in Yorkshire in peace. A poignant sight in these troubled times.

I planted loads of these beautiful little Puschkinia libanotica (Lebanon squill) in my own garden, but none have come up. Either they couldn’t cope with my heavy clay soil (probable) or the local wildlife ate them.
Never mind, at least there were plenty flowering at Harlow Carr today to enjoy. 😊

We had one of those plastic cones when JRTx had the snip. Put it on him at night when unable to supervise. I still feel guilty about it. 😖

Afternoon off, going to garden centre - Fridays are a good day to go because fresh plant stock in ready for weekend.
Taking it v much one day at a time at mo and trying to not look too far ahead or think about anxious things.
