Orange stems of dogwood in front of a daphne shrub with pink blossom. Dwarf yellow narcissi flowering behind.
The beautiful russet peeling bark of a small tree (species unknown, sorry) with a path leading away, lined with colourful red and yellow dogwood stems, pink heather, early spring flowers and other colourful shrubs. Two white-barked birch trees and a lawn in the distance.
A flower border with orange dogwood stems, a pink hellebore, blue dwarf irises and the green foliage of other plants emerging.
Red and orange dogwood stems with purple heather in the foreground, green conifers alongside and yellow dwarf narcissi flowering behind. Beyond are the white seed pods of last yearβs honesty flowers.
May I commend the Winter Garden at #HarlowCarr in Harrogate, UK to you, my friends? What those clever people donβt know about cheering up the garden, with early flowers and layers of colour, patterns and texture, isnβt worth knowing. π xx

I think they try to avoid cones these days if poss because theyβre uncomfortable and prevent natural behaviour. If I could have avoided using one, I would, but JRTx wouldβve been at his stitches all night long! π Sometimes itβs the least bad option.
Hope things calmer and whisky helped!!

Bettyβs cafΓ© window display of large and small decorated Easter eggs and other small cakes and treats. There is a very large egg in the centre which is beautifully decorated with hand-piped icing in patterns of swirls and flowers. In front are small eggs, decorated with cute sheep faces and flowers.
A detail from Bettyβs window display, showing smaller decorated Easter eggs as well as square fondant fancy cakes and green frog novelty cakes.
Yes! Itβd be rude not to, donβt you think? π We bought a couple of βrascals to take home and enjoy tomorrow.
Theyβve already got their Easter window display in place - so pretty. They told me the giant egg weighs 5kg and costs Β£395. Apparently they sell about 15 giant eggs a year!

Pale blue striped flowers with mid-green foliage. The Lebanon squill is native to the mountains of Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and Syria. Flowering here in Yorkshire in peace. A poignant sight in these troubled times.
I planted loads of these beautiful little Puschkinia libanotica (Lebanon squill) in my own garden, but none have come up. Either they couldnβt cope with my heavy clay soil (probable) or the local wildlife ate them.
Never mind, at least there were plenty flowering at Harlow Carr today to enjoy. π

Amazing to persist and get him to the vet! Well done!! I really hope he calms down and you can all focus on healing, now that the horrid coat is gone!
We had one of those plastic cones when JRTx had the snip. Put it on him at night when unable to supervise. I still feel guilty about it. π
