National security rhetoric was used to promote a far-right political ideology; domestic and international checks and balances that in the past protected workersβ rights were circumvented, and both gov't and large trade unions abandoned the rights of non-citizen workers.
The article (w/ Yahel Kurlander) analyses key developments around the replacement of Palestinians with migrant workers, reflecting a tension between three logics underlying the political economy of non-citizen labour in Israel/Palestine: a capitalist, an ethno-nationalist, and a colonial logic.
