Multi winner districts really seem like a good idea whose time has come.
But I am skeptical of ranked voting systems. STAR and Approval voting are best IMHO.

I would strongly advise approval voting instead of instant runoff voting AKA ranked choice voting.
Special guest Tom Joseph explains why combining Approval Voting, Top Four primaries, and Ranked Choice could be the most realistic path to real electoral reform.
This isnโt theory โ itโs practical democracy.

Don't sleep on election by jury
Longer term our priorities must be:
1. Approval voting for general elections everywhere
2. Media and social media information ecosystem reform
3. Massive anti-corruption initiatives
actually whether star or score is better. depends on what kind of strategic voting patterns you simulate. they're almost identical but score voting is simpler.
please. we've passed ballot measures by a 2/3 majority in US cities. with hundreds of thousands of citizens.
choosing not to look at evidence and potentially change your mind because you don't like the tone is a fault in you.
that's deeply irrational because there's a finite (and small) amount of voting reform energy, and if you squander it on worse ideas (that are also more complex thus more likely to be repealed), you lose big time.
it's your loss.
saw this on vacation recently.
We've just convened an AI-powered virtual Citizens' Initiative Review on Oregon ballot measure HB 3991.

Supporters may want to reference our findings in their published arguments in the Oregon voter guide.
that's your loss.

As a fellow neoliberal I am happy that Briahna Joy Gray is articulating the wonders of capitalism providing working women a wide variety of tasty foods that free up their time.
I canโt wait till sheโs able to order a burrito drone drop using repurposed Predator technology
@councilorclark.bsky.social I'd love to get your thoughts on bringing Oregon's Citizens' Initiative Review process to Portland. Someone in my network made this page about it.

your argument to a body of facts is "i can't actually address the evidence, but i don't like it because it doesn't 'sound convincing to people'". that's lunacy.
we're the best people.
i aced logic and rhetoric as a college freshman in 1998.
i've been an expert in this field for 20 years, and co-founded a leading electoral reform organization. i don't think you're in a place to tell me what the best approaches are.
whether a debate is "agreed" on (whatever that means) has nothing whatsoever to do with whether your argument is valid, or is a fallacy.
you completely ignored the substantive factual issue to do tone policing.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian OโHara told his officers that they have a duty to intervene if they see ICE committing crimes and will be fired if they don't. We need a lot more of this.

would be so great if we could ban hypothecation.
no, it was not the correct one. begich was preferred by a large majority to Palin, and preferred by a large majority to peltola. he was almost certainly the most preferred candidate. you just have no understanding of social choice theory. you don't even know the basic terms of the topic.
I repeat, we can objectively measure how good a voting method is at achieving whatever goals the voters have. this has been objectively measured and the results show approval. voting is better.
I just cited voluminous evidence from the world's top experts that cardinal methods like star voting and approval voting are radically simpler than ranked methods, especially IRV. You're just ignoring that and asserting the contrary, proving you have no understanding.

then you just don't understand what the point of a good voting method is. The point is to get the highest expected utility. The highest satisfaction with election results in the ultimate policy that creates. whether that means supporting Hamas in your case, or opposing Hamas in mine.
please explain to me how I can rank my sincere favorite first with IRV without being punished by a spoiler effect that elects the greater evil.
oh wait, you can't.
you support a system that keeps us trapped in two-party duopoly.
