True, I started running The One Ring.

Sessions are my 4-hour infodumps about the Lost Realm of Arnor and the Second Age, thinly disguised as TTRPG sessions.

We’re all having a great time.

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads:

The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same...

Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.

Kansas Orders Trans Drivers to Surrender Licenses With One Day’s Notice Trans people affected are required to replace their state identification at their own expense.

As a Jewish person, I’m not exaggerating that the far right want nothing more than absolute humiliation, dehumanizing, and death to all trans people.

This all-too-familiar sight is happening right in front of our eyes—and I’m not seeing nearly enough decrying and anger to feel remotely comfortable.

Two colour illustration of Barad Dûr, with Sauron's eye at the top. surrounded with the ring inscription in elvish. the sky is red with sparks and ash floating in the air, the tower is above a fiery chasm. The front doors are glowing red with silhouettes of chains and armouries. A cloud of ash conceals the horizon. This will be a banner and riso print first. Digital prints coming later this year.

Been having an absolute blast with the One Ring lately.

Orcs were digging for traces of lost Ring-lore in the ruins of Hollin, before moving on to a meeting in Tharbad.

The party followed and ambushed them, but the Orcs’ green-eyed captain escaped with help from spies disguised as Dunedain.

I found the secret to getting good at pixel art:

1: Find sprites/a tileset you like.

2: Decide you don’t like the color palette

3: Recolor them w/ a color palette you like

4 Start tinkering/modifying/expanding the sprites

5: Oops you tinkered too much and now you have your own tileset/sprites.

in 2017 a popular twitter game was to type a partial phrase then see what your phone auto-completes it with.
this proved so popular that it is now the only business model in the US.

D6, 4+ you go before enemies, 3 or less you go after.

Some enemies have features that let them always go first (I.E, fast critters snakes) or last (slow ones like zombies).

4e annoys because it doesn't pretend that it's fighting-adventure rules are anything else and expects you to use rules as written. By not lying about itself, it fucks up the normal D&D process of pretending that it's good for other things, which pretence is *self-fulfilling* via quiet rulings.

All games are political, and the best games are even more political than that.

Feels like a clunkier way to say “the fun is in the limitations.”

The rules create “unnecessary obstacles” (like how pieces are allowed to move, how you are allowed to interact with a ball, etc.) that you have to work around to play the game.

Inside TurboTax’s 20-Year Fight to Stop Americans From Filing Their Taxes for Free Using lobbying, the revolving door and “dark pattern” customer tricks, Intuit fended off the government’s attempts to make tax filing free and easy, and created its multi-billion-dollar franchise.

With tax season in full swing, here's our reminder that TurboTax owner Intuit spent two decades fighting to prevent Americans from filing their taxes online for free.

Yes (according to the 2005 Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie adaptation, at least)

I don't know who needs to hear this, but teachers (ECE- graduate school) are fucking exhausted right now and have to keep teaching during *points to world*. It's rough normally, it's been extra rough for years, and right now it's basically boss levels rough. Don't beat yourself up, fellow educators.
