The Scholten Photographic Collection (NINO) comprises ca. 22,000 original photographs that Frank Scholten took on his travels through the Middle East in 1920-1923. Some of his pictures have been used in the latest issue of the magazine ZEIT GESCHICHTE, about the history of the conflict in Palestine.

One of the jurors wrote about Lauren's work: โFor her thesis, she has compiled an impressive amount of iconographic source material, both of published and unpublished material, originating from various sites distributed across Egypt."
The NINO MA thesis prize runner-up is Lauren van Kruijssen. Lauren investigated archaising features in the decoration of Late Period temples.
On Kiki's work, one juror wrote: โThis research poses an important improvement in the field and should be considered food for thought for future publications, including on how to move forward with standardization in transcription without losing the iconicity and personality provided by the scribes."
Kiki Freriks is the winner of the NINO Thesis prize. Kiki wrote about hieratic Iconicity in Late Ramesside Texts from Deir el-Medina. It highlights the relation between written text and iconicity.
