The siren song of crawling back into bed to read the last quarter of Wool (Silo #1) and then binge the show, but I'm already tied to the mast.

Itβs almost like bringing on a nazi-inked fuck boi TV personality to be in charge of national security was a bad idea.

I feel like that would pull me out of the story! But to each their own...
I feel the same way⦠what is happening there?
I am having the hardest time trying to bend my feed content towards books and writing adviceβ¦

Cover of the Universal Dream Book⦠this book is in excellent shape!
Published in 1958 by W. Foulsham & Co
An entry on dreaming about Mince Piesβ¦ to eat them means you will be at a wedding. To make them means you will plan a wedding and βyour partner will be tolerably well off, though not affluent.β
Yesterdaysβ thrift book haul yielded this gem (1958 edition of The Universal Dream Book).
Want me to look something up for you?
This book is full of vintage wisdom. All of it completely true.

It was almost painful to read. So slow, characters arcs just disappear, everyone is a little awful except the ones who die early⦠I DNFed back when it first came out and probably should have again. Haha.
The cover of One Dark Window
I should be sleeping but One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig will not let up.
I almost quit ACOSF several times but I had friends that kept me going. Glad I did because she definitely comes around. It just took SO LONG. Brutally long.
What did you think?
I hardly ever DNF but this book made me seriously question my policy. It was so slow and meandering. Struggling to understand why so many people love this oneβ¦
Here's what I got into this past month. Catching up on some older releases. Also... Wicked. Can we talk about Wicked? Why didn't anyone tell me?

Not this time but Iβm looking forward to seeing pitches!
I love depictions of fantasy and sci-fi worlds. Especially ones that focus on unique details. It doesnβt always have to be a stunning landscape. I love seeing images that highlight little differences that make worlds unique.
They have to be done so well to be effective, in my opinion. Iβve read quite a few where I just feel lost and am waiting for the actual story to start. I rarely DNF, so Iβll push through, but can be work.
When the MMC smells like cedar and smoke but itβs been 3 months with multiple hand to hand combat situations since the last bath. Cedar is the dominant damn scent here?
My suspension of disbelief can only go so far.

Do you know the story of The Princess and the Pea?
I dropped a reference and ended up having to explain it⦠which, honestly, is a ridiculous story with a very strange moral.
Is this too niche to reference now?
That is an excellent mashup. Ferocious and adorable!
Dragons.. absolutely dragons.
Metaphorically. Itβs been a rough year.
Iβm going to need a bigger sword.
The best part about critiquing an old manuscripts is that you can leave little love notes to your future self and know they will be taken exactly as intended.

It always happens all at once!
Bargain basement bad guys.
A row of snowboards, lying in the snow with bases up. One base says in bold letters, βKooks only. No locals.β

Iβm still enjoying the descent.
I deeply need to get lost in the words today. Everything has been so heavy. Time to set it all down for a few hours and wander off into another world.
