Okay folks... I'm looking for feedback on my holiday rental property analysis tool (reestit.com). It's been out there for a month and, to be honest, I'm none the wiser about what folks think about it. In particular, if there was one thing it doesn't currently do that you wish it could, I'm all ears.

Depends what you mean by "this"... the agentic thing or the context management thing?
I've certainly discussed agentic coding with you.

From Hearth to Headlight: Why I Built Reestit - Reestit Blog
Lemme give you the link...

That...and all the obvious names were taken so I leaned towards the unusual but rich in metaphor and imagery.
Bloomin' short as well so easy to recall once you've got over the spelling.

And liaten... if it brings folks with pitchforks to me in droves I'll simply leverage that by promoting my new site. It needs the eyeballs. It seems strangely quiet around here ATM. (visions of that iconic scene in a deserted Central London in 28 days later)

Ooookay... let's see if I get lynched. I'll take that kicking if it wants to come my way. I plan to be completely non judgemental on here and a kicking won't change that.
TBF there's still an awful lot of useful tech stuff going on over there too.

If I ever drift into the political on this platform, please give me a firm kick. I want to keep that stuff on Twitter. It's been soiled beyond belief and thus has earned the right to be used as my sick bucket. This is now my clean and wholesome social account.

Hey folks!
Reestit's Smokehouse is now open
Itβs where I cure the facts that actually matter in choosing a holiday rental property: data dives, host logic, why star ratings are dead...
If you want a better way to find a decent place to stay, this is for you

Thanks, Darren.
I'd love some user feedback. Iβm keen to keep improving the service and make it as useful as it can be.
Iβve got lots of ideas, but what really matters is understanding which ones would make the biggest difference to others. That's where the feedback will come in really handy.

So... has anyone on this platform actually requested a rental property review summary on my new site yet?
bsky.app/profile/laur...
I'm keen for feedback.
If there was one thing you wish a service such as Reestit could do for you, what would that be? Don't hold back - shoot for the moon on a stick

13 posts. Unlucky for some, so I'll add one more
Requesting a summary couldn't be easier: paste an Airbnb property page URL into the URL field, choose an analytical lens (Sea Salt Drift can be a hoot), hit Smoke Out the Truth
For a quick fix, "Try a recent smoke" will pull something from the cache

One last thing: If anyone is curious about how this Agentic workflow actually looks in practice, drop me a DM or reply.
Iβm happy to do a Q&A or a live demo building a feature from scratch to show you the reality of my workflow.ποΈβ¨

My one ask to you: If you find it useful please pass the URL on to one other person you know
I built this to be used and I need feedback to make it better. Iβd love to hear what you think

The ugly truth about AI: It costs money.
Right now, Reestit is free. Iβm paying the LLM bills myself because I want this to exist. To stop myself from going bankrupt, there are strict daily limits per user. π

For the tech-curious:
- Backend: Python / FastAPI
- Frontend: FastAPI with Vanilla JS & CSS
- Database: SQLite (Boring is better)
- Intelligence: OpenAI/Gemini
Simple stack. Dockerized. Deployed. Available at: reestit.com?s=bluesky&c=...

The stats? Iβve been fully agentic for 1 month. In that time, I built the entire repo, the analysis pipeline, extension, and full CI/CD
Without the Agent? Given the learning curve, this would've taken 6+ months. It felt less like using a tool, more like jamming with a colleague who types 1000 wpm

Scraping and LLMs are brittle. So I built The Watchtower - a custom reliability dashboard. It tracks Canaries (test properties) across different regions to detect Forensic Drift (when Airbnb changes their schema).
If the hearth isn't hot, I know exactly which data field broke before a user does. π°

The Aha moment
I am NOT remotely a web dev. Iβm technically aware, but web dev isn't really in my wheelhouse
I acted as Architect/PM. Antigravity (my Agentic AI partner) was Senior Engineer. I didn't just prompt; I pair-programmed. We argued about CSS, debated race conditions, refactored codebases

But copying URLs is so 2024.
I also shipped the **Reestit Stoker** - a Chrome extension that lives on your Airbnb tabs. One click "stokes the fire" and sends the property straight to the summary engine. πͺ΅π₯
It turns browsing into scouting.

Reestit ingests reviews and uses LLMs to "smoke" them into three distinct flavors:
π₯ **Peat Fire** (The balanced, nuanced take)
πΏ **Birch Wisp** (Focusing on the genuine positives)
π§ **Sea-Salt Drift** (Forensic wit and unvarnished clarity)

Reestit (Shetland/Scots for "cured/smoked") is my attempt at automating the detective work to find the vital context - like construction noise next door, mattresses made of concrete, or perhaps the host who leaves a lovely welcome hamper - that defines a trip but gets lost in the noise.

We've all been there:
You find an Airbnb with 4.8 stars, but the reviews feel... polite.
"cosy" usually means you can touch both walls at once, and "central" usually means you'll hear every siren in the city. π¨

Reestit Website Banner. The brand name 'Reestit' presented in a rustic, smoke-inspired style with the tagline 'Smoking out the Truth'
A cozy, traditional Shetland croft interior. Cuts of reestit mutton hang from the wooden rafters above a glowing peat fire, slowly curing in the aromatic smoke.
Silence broken
Iβve been saving my first post for something special. Iβve just shipped Reestit - a tool to smoke out the truth behind holiday rentals
But honestly? The how is more interesting than the what. I built a fullstack web app and Chrome extension in 30 days
