OMG HRT has been a lifesaver for me, on 75mg patches and continuous progesterone cos have no uterus. It’s helped with some of my adhd brain fog too. Helped my joint pain hugely.

My husband is German, came here at 10 and has no German accent speaking English. All his siblings are older and still sound very German. Ms L’s partner has English parents and they sometimes sound English. It’s neat how accents occur.

My eldest 2 have a definite “Southland R” accent. They lived in Oamaru for a yr age 2&4. My younger two it’s less noticeable but they have lived in Palmy their whole lives.

We are losing the workforce we need due to the terrible employment conditions here, including the anti-worker and anti-pay-equity legislation being passed by NACT. Cost of living is also a driver. Australia has better working conditions and it has fair pay agreements. NACT trashed ours.

I call it luncheon now but it was Belgium as a kid and my Olds definitely call it Belgium. Flagon or peter for beer is another one.

My Olds live in Oamaru and the Waitaki seems to be a border for lots of things.

Saw a post about “crib” vs “bach” I am from Invers it’s a crib down there, we “wagged” school but when I went to Chch they “bunked off” and in Palmy it’s “wagging” . Where names come from intrigues me.

We weren’t rich enough to own a crib. Bach is a Canterbury north thing. It’s like “wagging” versus “bunking off”. I wagged school but when I shifted to chch they had no idea what I meant

Shifted Ms L to Wellington yesterday. Am liable to burst in to tears at anytime.
